The traffic was pretty light at this time, so we made it to the airport with plenty of time to spear. We all decided to split. Isa would get snacks for later, Eva would go to the suvenier area to buy gifts for her cousines (because she would forget on our way back to the trip), and I would save us seats.
As I sat there I turn on my phone and read a book to help time pass while I was on my own. I was planning on saving it for the plane ride, but its not like I was going to finish the whole book in 3 hours... Right?
I was so focused on my reading that I didnt realize when my friends were back. After I read through some chapters, I ended up falling asleep. I was so tired I didn't care that I was in an airport chair, at this point I could sleep anywhere. Aparently I wasn't the only one who thought that way. My friends had fallen asleep too, thankfully Eva woke up before the plane left us.
I suddenly feel dizzy, as I wake up to Isa shaking me, hoping I would wake up. "We have to go now or the plane will leave us!" Eva screams while shaking her passport. I was still groggy and not able to process anything.
Then as I reach into my purse to grab my passport, I realize it wasn't there. I grew alarmed and started to search frantically, into my purse filled with thousands of endless thing inside. "Go on without me, I'll just meet you guys in the plane" I say as I continue to look inside the black hole that is my purse.
Isa and Eva nod and start walking away, as panick grew inside of me. This passport was my ticket to the best summer of my life, if I lost it... I drown out those thoughts and continue to search in my purse.
I stand up and beging to walk as I look into my bag, for fear that if I sit any longer, I wouldn't make it on the plane in time. As I walk I suddenly feel as if a bumped into something. Well more like a someone. I look up and find a guy my age right infront of me, I don't give him much thought because I was too busy trying to pick up the mess that used to be inside my purse. I start scooping my lipsticks, papers and wallet of the floor, as I try to spot my passport in the process.
Once everything was inside my bag I finally gave up hope of ever seeing that passport again, untill "Are you looking for this? " the guy said as he held up the blue booklet in his hands. "You just saved my trip" I said as I let out all the stress I had been holding inside this whole time. I take my passport and start making a run for it, hoping I would make it on time. Oh shoot I forgot to say thank you to that guy! "Thanks!" I screamed over the distance. Have I seen him before?
I forget about it once I reach the inside of the plane. I look for my seat number, and to my luck, I end up sitting next to Eva. I am so glad I didn't end up sitting next to a creep. "I am glad you found your passport" Eva says as she looks through her phone. "Well I am glad I didn't seat next to some wierdo" I reply dryly. "That would be thanks to me, I was assinged to sit next to a wierdo and you were too, so I asked the guy next to you if we could switch and he said yes. I figured he would make good friends with the other guy" she laughs.
I make myself comfortable by taking out my head pillow, I slowly drift into a deep sleep. I wake up to the sound of Eva's music blasting out of her headphones. "What's the point of having headphones if I can hear what you are listening?"
I expected her to roll her eyes when I turned around, but the I realized she fell asleep. How on Earth is she sleeping with music blasting in her ears? Eva is a wonder to me. I stand up and make my way to the bathroom. On my way I once again manage to bump into someone. And to my surprise, it is the same guy as earlier in the airport. I hadn't really paid much attention to him before, due to my dilemma, however now, I become more aware of him. He is tall with brown short hair and green ocean eyes. He also has a chizled jaw and a wide smile spread across his face. Now that I think about it, that was the same expression that he had back in the airplain.
Suddenly I realize I have been staring at this handsome guy the whole time... "Hey, seems we meet again..." he says, in a way to end the awkward silence. "Umm. yeah..." I reply slowly, as I walk past him in utter humiliation. I hadn't realized I had moved until I noticed that I was sitting down. I decided I would avoid the bathroom until we reached the airport, since I was too embarassed to stand up again.
Once we reached Dominican Republic, I fell incomplete love with it. The place was nothing like anything I have ever seen before. Everything was so tropical and beautiful. But nothing compares to the resort itself. The place was outstanding, it looked really simple in the outside, but as you entered the reception, it was as if you had stepped into another dimension. Everything inside was gold. The reception desk, the walls, the clocks... Honestly the pictures didn't do the place justice. If this was the reception. I can only imagine how the resort itself looks like.
