Ten years later

"Uncle Colin, uncle Colin, Eli has hidden my book again," a gorgeous blonde-haired girl moans, pouting sweetly pulling at his arm so he would follow her.

Finn tries to bury his chuckle while Rory tries to comfort the girl, "Sorry, Char, I will help you search for your book."

Logan looks adoringly at his wife and their daughter Charlotte. He chuckles nervously at his two best friends, "I don't know why Eli constantly hides things from my daughter."

"Typical McCrae," Finn laughs loudly.

"Hey," Colin reacts, "he's your son too."

"Relax Colin, I never will forget the day we adopted him," Finn caresses his husband's arm.

"Me too," Logan teases, "How you managed to convince someone that Finn would make a good father is still a mystery to me."

"Oh, mate, that hurts," Finn winces, holding his heart overdramatically.

Colin smiles softly at the antics of Finn, looking at the black nail polish on Finn's hands. Who would have thought he would have fallen in love with his best friend and marry him one day?

Soon after the LDB event ten years ago Finn told his parents about his relationship with Colin. Due to Finn's father unconventional lifestyle they approved it immediately. Telling Colin's father however was the hardest part. At first Colin avoided it and he told Finn they should wait till their relationship lasts longer. He remembers how sad Finn was, because Colin waited. Finally, he told Andrew McCrae about loving a man and Mr. McCrae wasn't amused at all. Colin had several conversations with his father about how would the name McCrae survive without children, so Colin and Finn adopted a little baby boy 6 years ago. Colin's father fell in love with his grandson.

At the wedding one year ago, Andrew McCrae realized that he had never found another love after Colin's mother and that he should be happy for his son.

It was a rough at first, but now Colin has it all, a loving husband and a great kid.

Finn smiling at Colin teases, "Love, when you day dream I hope it's at least a dirty dream that involves me."

"Too much information," Logan shouts, holding his ears with his two hands. He was already used to his friends bantering and flirting, but it was fun to tease them a bit.

Logan thinks back to the day that Colin and Finn introduced Eli to Rory and Logan. Rory was pregnant with Charlotte when their two friends visited them. Asking them for suggestions on what to name their son, Rory and Logan suggested that they should name him Eli. Since Eli is the nickname for Yale University students and since they fell in love there as students that Eli would be a perfect name.

Rory comes back to the group.

Charlotte is sitting in the garden with her book again in her hand and starts reading.

"You know, you two will need to lock her when she gets older," Finn says mischievously.

"Why?" Logan and Rory ask confused.

"She's already such a beauty with her blonde hair and her ocean blue eyes. Think about her as a teenager and boys like Logan," Finn mocks.

"Over my dead body," Logan replies, trying to hide his fear. Rory comforts her husband with caressing his back.

"You know, that's the reason why Eli hides her stuff all the time?" Finn explains.

"What do you mean?" Rory asks.

"We adopted him, Eli and me, we're McCrae's now, but it seems that Eli has more the temperament of one of his fathers," Finn continues smirking.

Colin smiles at the memory that he convinced Finn to give their son his last name to calm down Andrew McCrae that there will be another heir to the McCrae fortune. But he still adores Finn for taking his surname after marrying. They were a real family now. Finn explained it didn't matter, because his younger brother could carry on his family name, but Colin knew it was hard for Finn to change his name at first.

"Well, that's right, it seems like I need to raise two Finns now," Colin teases, kissing Finn tenderly on the lips.

"Ugh," Eli states after arriving one minute ago at the terrace. "Kissing is nasty."

The adults laugh at the disgusting facial expression of the boy while Eli runs off to annoy Charlotte again

"He's a real troublemaker," Logan smiles. "He fits in our group, boys."

Finn rises his glass with scotch, "To nights we will never remember, with the friends we will never forget."

Logan, Colin and Rory, raises their glasses too, answer as always "May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty."

THE END

--

This was my first fanfiction ever and I want to say thank you to all the readers, but especially to the readers, who stuck to it till the end, wrote charming comments or gave the story a star or more stars. I was anxious if anybody would read my stuff and now I'm happy I did it. It was a rough start and I want to say a special thank you to my lovely betas lindaprosser1 and MichaelaKrist who helped me, mainly with my horrible English and the differences between Germany and America. Someone told me my stories are getting better which means no need to be sad this one ends, instead read my other stories. Thanks, ClaudiaCleland
