The next day at school, Jungkook goes up to his friends who are busy being rather loud. It's not a new thing for them to act like that, so Jungkook naturally joins in the fun, teasing his hyungs. He tries to ruffles one of their hair but he deflects his hand, accompanied by a curse direct at him.
"Hyung..." Jungkook pouts. Jin hears and lightly hits the boy who cursed at Jungkook.
"Yoongi, c'mon."
"He swears just as much as I do hyung, don't act like Kook's a little innocent bunny," Yoongi scoffs. A couple of the guys laugh at that comment, which is totally true. Jin sometimes likes to baby Jungkook, being that he's the youngest of the group and they've known him to be rather small and innocent most of the time. One of the guys, Namjoon actually, mentions the new girl.
"She's weird, isn't she? Does anyone know her name?"
"It's Ava," Jungkook says.
"You talked to her?" Yoongi asks.
"Yeah, for like a second though."
"Isn't she like really scary though?" Taehyung asks.
"No, she actually likes the same type of music as me," Jungkook smiles lightly. The guys notice his smile and give each other weird looks but it doesn't bother the maknae. Who cares if she likes the same music? It's just catchy noises put together, it's not like she worships the devil or something, but maybe the guys think she does, considering her get up and all. But for some reason, Jungkook suspects she's actually pretty average and not insane like that. He actually finds it funny that they like the same music, and wonders secretly to himself if they share any other similar tastes. Would it be weird if I talked to her again and asked?
"Also, who cares if she likes what or whatever. If she's happy in her own skin, and is happy, isn't that what matters?" Jungkook adds. The guys look at each other, confused as to why the maknaes defending the weird kid. It's not like Jungkook's a bully or anything, but it's unlike him to actually secretly stand up for the outcasts.
"To each their own I guess," the guys all say in variations and leave it at that. Jungkook decides that he'll try to talk to her later, maybe.
