To my Kind Editor,
After years of long hardship, the Baudelaire's nemesis Count Olaf, is dead. I have decided to continue the Baudelaire's tale due to some requests.
The next time you buy something at Anwhistle Antiques, founded again by Captain Widdershins, purchase the anchor at the right-hand side of the shop. Captain Widdershins will pass you a bag, containing not the anchor, but an entire account of the book and a photograph of the Baudelaires after Olaf died. I will also include a commonplace book my dear father kept, so as to help Ms Helquist with her illustrations.
Remember, you are my last hope that the tales of the Baudelaire orphans can be told to the general public.
With all due respect,
There is no rose
Without a thorn
