Albus was just returning to the Slytherin dorm to get Scorpius for dinner. It had been a really long day. However, that didn't prevent Scorpius from reading Hogwarts: A History for the millionth time.

Just then, a loud bang erupted from near the stairs. Albus rushed to see what happened.

It was bad; his best friend Scorpius just fell down the stairs. All the way from the top. Being the careful person he was, he appeared to have been reading while coming down the stairs. His body was bent at a pretty weird angle. The book lay unnoticed on his side. There were bruises and cuts on his hands, cheeks and knees. One of them was bleeding, soaking his white shirt red with blood.

Of course, Albus completely freaked out.

"Merlin's beard! Scor, what happened?" Albus was panicking.

"Hey munchkin! Please don't die on me!" Albus was now sobbing uncontrollably.

"Did you just call me a munchkin?" This was all Scorpius managed to say before going unconscious.

Albus waved at some nearby second years to call for Madam Promfrey. Registering the blood-soaked shirt of Scorpius', they need not be told be told. "Madam Promfrey! Scorpius Malfoy is dead!" Even the second year students were panicking.

Oh great, Albus thought, all Scorp needs is the entire school coming to see him!

Nonetheless, both his siblings James and Lily, Rose, Professor Longbottom, Madam Promfrey and Professor McGonagall had come. "Al, what's wrong with Scorpius?" Rose blurted out. Albus was shocked to see the smiles on siblings' faces. But the teachers were dead serious.

"Explain yourselves!" McGonagall ordered. Albus told her the entire tale of Scorpius fall from the heavens (or rather stairs).

McGonagall levitated Scorpius to the infirmary, closely followed by Madam Promfrey and Professor Longbottom. "Boy! He needs some Skele Gro," Madam Promfrey said to Professor Longbottom.

Albus was crying now. However, the other people were howling with laughter. "Oh Al, how's your boyfriend? Sure he's not dead?" James was grinning like an idiot now, so were Rose and Lily.

"Um – he's not my boyfriend!" Albus blurted out. Scorpius Malfoy, his boyfriend? Heck, the thought gave him butterflies in the stomach.

"Young love is adorable!" Lily sang. "It's none of your business," Albus was now shaking with anger, "I will be at the infirmary in twenty. Rose, bring both of us some food. I am gonna spend the night at the infirmary."

"Aye, aye. Captain!" And off they went.

When Albus saw his best friend lying on a cot looking like he'd just been run over by a train, his mind and heart ached.

'Oh Scorp...' he breathed.

Ms Pomfrey was bandaging his shoulder. He seemed to be sleeping.

'Is he going to be alright?' he asked, softly so that Scorpius didn't wake up.

'Mr Potter. Minerva told me you were going to be here. Yes, he's going to be fine. Just needs some rest.' Ms Pomfrey said.

'Oh. Okay.' he sighed.

It was going to be fine.

He sat down on the bed beside Scorpius and kept quiet as Ms Pomfrey patched him up.

It took about an hour more during which Albus fiddled with the helm of his green and silver sweater and observed the steady rising and falling of Scorpius' chest.
