(20) Do you Really Want to Do This?

I made a serious expression,"We need to talk," I said.

"About what?" I heard Obito ask.

"War."

He walked closer to me and sat beside me,"What about it?" he asked now that he was near to me. I sighed before looking at the orange mask that was on his face.

"I know it's none of my business... and you don't have to listen to me but... I do want you to know that... I'm against this war.

Obito tilted his head as I felt him take my hand and hold it,"Why?Why are you against this war?" he asked,"I thought you wanted peace?"

"I know," I said,"I do but...I...I only became the person I am because of the wars that went on in my childhood. Imagine the bloodshed that will go on if you go to war? How will that make the world better?How will that affect their adulthood."

He looked at me for a long time before sighing.

"You're trying to change my plans too, huh? I'll let you have your time to speak but, after, it's my decision to change anything. I doubt anything will change though."

There was a silence as I stared at him,"Okay," I said.

I slowly leaned my head on Obito's shoulder. I felt him stiffen but he soon relaxed and I began to speak,"First of all, I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'd feel terrible if I forced you to do anything, especially because from what you told me you've been doing things towards this plan for years. I don't want to change anything but it hurts me..."

"I think... you can find another way to find peace," I said looking at him.

"You're not Madara... you're Obito... you don't have to choose the path that has so much bloodshed. I'm sure you can figure something out and on top of that, you're not the only one who won't be able to go on normally if their beloved one dies."

"They shouldn't have to see anything with too much bloodshed.Their loved ones dying."

He scoffed....my eyebrow twitched,"What do you want them to see their loved one to die in front of their eyes? You saw it too, didn't you? Do you want them to feel that too."

"Shut up Mizuki," I heard him say gently.

"What are you embarrassed because what I'm saying is true?"

"Shut up," he said this time louder than before.

"You can't help people if they don't want to be helped. You can push them towards the right path but you shouldn't force them t do anything, that goes for both me and you," I said.

"You said Madara caused you to go on this path, right? And you said you've killed more shinobi then me too, do you regret anything?"

He looked at me and slowly shook his head no.

"If you killed someone's parents, they would end up with no mom or dad, they would become an orphan. If you took away their friends they would be alone and abandoned. They would have to live without anyone. I'm in no position to talk but I know what peace is. And it is only achievable if everyone agrees with it."

I scoffed before sighing,"I can never make a decision like this for someone else. It wouldn't feel right. I only want to advise you... what you do with my advice is your business. Just know that whichever one you choose... I will support you fully... even if it leads to a bad ending. I was taught in the mist of loyalty. I'll stick by you but... do you really want to do this?"

I got up slowly,"I'm done talking, Obito," I said as I slowly walked away. I walked straight forward towards the entrance and once I got there I walked straight out of the cave.

I could feel my heart beating as I walked back to the hideout. I felt uneasy like I was rocking back and forth. I had told him my feelings about the war and even though I felt relieved to get it off my chest I still wondered why I cared so much. It was his life right? So why would I have to control it? Why did I choose to advise him? For what reason?

I slowly walked into the hideout and face planted into the pillow when I got there. The answers would remain a mystery to me.
