January 30th.
"Kian," I heard JC's voice. "Sh, sh. Kian. Hey, sh. Kian. Are you okay?"
I opened my eyes and saw JC standing by my bed. He wasn't wearing anything but a pair of sweatpants, and his hair was messy like he had been sleeping. What time was it?
"What do you mean?" I asked, staring up at him.
"I heard you screaming so I ran in here to check on you. I guess you were having a nightmare. Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah," I lied. "I'm fine."
"Well, alright." JC said and brushed his fingers against my cheek. "Get you some sleep."
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Uh, I think it's like 2:30." He said and I widened my eyes.
"In the morning?"
"Yep. In the morning." He said and shrugged a little.
"Oh. Okay. Well. Goodnight." I said as he turned to walk out of my room.
"Night." He said and started to walk across the hall to his room.
"Wait.." I said. "JC."
He turned and walked back into my room. "Yeah?"
"I don't want to be alone." I said and he stepped a little closer to me.
"Do you want to come to my room?" He asked. "You'd probably be more comfortable in there anyway. If you can't sleep, you can turn on the tv. "
I thought about it for a moment before nodding my head some. "Yeah, I wanna go in there." I said and he held out his hand to help me up. "But... can you carry me?" I asked, and he smiled a bit.
"Sure. C'mere." He said as he picked me up out of my bed. I wrapped my legs around his waist, and my arms around his neck. "Oh, you're clinging to me. Okay. I don't know how I didn't see that coming."
"Is that a bad thing? Should I not cling?" I said.
"No, love, it's fine. You can cling."
It took a while for either of us to go back to sleep, but we finally ended up falling asleep at 3:15.
I woke up several times between then and 4, but I eventually ended up not being able to sleep, so I turned on the tv and turned down the volume, hoping I wouldn't wake JC up. I didn't know what channel it was on, and I didn't recognize the show, but it seemed kinda funny, so I left it on that channel.
JC woke up after I accidentally laughed a little too loud, and I immediately felt bad about it, so I apologized.
"It's fine. That was cute." JC said and sat up, wrapping his arms around me. "Do you like this show?" He questioned.
"It seems pretty funny. I don't know what show it is, though." I said awkwardly.
"The Golden Girls," he said. "My mom and I used to watch it together all the time. It's really funny."
I smiled a little and nodded. "That's cool. I like it a lot."
"You seem much happier than the day I first brought you here. That is so much progress, and I am so proud of you."
"Well, you were a big help in helping me get happy again." I admitted.
"I'm glad I could do that for you, love. I'm very glad."
