"Okay! That just about wraps up today! Have a good rest of the day, and don't do anything stupid!" Our instructor called to us as we left the campus building to head home. I was just out of the doors when I felt a hand on my shoulder, and then I was shoved to the ground.
"Emo fag." I heard and looked up from the ground to see Eren, the football jock.
I was confused as to why he would call me names and shove me around, we used to be good friends in High School. I decided to let him have his way, so I picked up my things and continued walking. I walked out of the Main Hallway doors and the same thing happened, but instead his friend Jeremy did it. It kept happening over and over, they would follow me and shove me.
"Okay, that's enough. What the fuck do you want?" I said as I got up the ground for the 15th time.
"Oh, we don't want anything. Anything to do with a scruff like you at least." Jeremy smirked and crossed his arms.
"Haha, that's right. A bitch like you couldn't do anything about it anyways." Eren smiled and crossed his arms as well.
"Faggot."
"Whore."
I flung my fist at Jeremy's jaw. Now, I didin't think through what I was doing, it was just a natural reaction to me being pissed off. I smiled as my clenched fist met directly with the bottom of Jeremy's jaw, surely to leave a bruise. He was shocked at first, but then regained his senses and swung a punch at me, which I ducked under. I kicked my foot out and before he knew it, he was on the ground. Eren just stood there, shocked, as I beat his friend senseless.
After a few more moments of getting my revenge, I got up off of Jeremy and said, "Yes, I guess a bitch like me can't do anything about it."
I grabbed my backpack off the ground and started to walk away when I realized I was being watched by a group of people down the road. I walked faster to see who was in the group, and almost tripped over the curb. I slowed my walking when I realized it was Cool Hair and Blondie's friends.
"Holy shit!" Cool Hair smiled and high-fived me.
"Damn, girl! You beat the hell out of him!" Cool's friend said.
The other 2 congratulated me as well, but when it came Blondie's turn to say something, he just fell silent.
"Come on, Fisher! You've gotta say something to your new giirllfriieend!"
"Yeah man! Step up!"
I laughed as Blondie blushed and looked at me. He smiled back and said 'good job'. I asked if the guys wanted to grab food and (of course) they all agreed. On the way there, I asked them all their names. Turns out, Cool Hair's name is Owen, Blondie's is Jayce, and the other two are Trevor and Michael. We all decided to go to McDonald's, but it was a 20 block walk. We decided to 'open up' a bit and tell the group about ourselves. Of course I was the only newbie apart from Michael, so I went first.
"Well, my name is Cora Marie Smith, I'm 19, I was born in New Hampshire but moved here to Massachusets to enroll in Harvard's Law School. I'm going to major in Law Enforcement and become a detective. I'm working part-time as a police officer right now, and I live alone in an apartment that I'm paying for with the money I get from my part time job."
"Wow."
"Is it hard."
"That's what she said."
I looked up from the ground to see Jayce smiling at me, "What's so funny?"
"Nothing, just the fact that you're a self-assured woman with the attitude of a hammer." He let out a small chuckle, then resumed his smiling.
"Wow. I never knew I got as low as a hammer."
"BUT YOU'RE ALWAYS AS HIGH AS A KITE!" Owen jumped up and the group started 'ohhhhh'-ing.
"I'm a cop, I'd get fired and arrested if I did drugs. Especially since they're not exactly legal here. I do smoke though, if that even counts as anything. Speaking of which, you guys want one?" I pulled my pack of cigarettes out of my backpack for the 5th time that day, and lit one once again.
"How many of those have you smoked today?" Jayce asked and agreed to smoke with me."
"Not many actually. I seem to be slowly snuffing out the smoking habit." I handed him the lighter and saw the first whisp of smoke escape from his lips. He inhaled again, and so did I. As I blew out the ever-so addictive smoke, I saw him blow a ring.
"Show-off." I smiled, "Watch this."
I inhaled deeply, then blew several tiny rings, holding up my middle finger down the middle of my lips.
"Wow. Now look who the show off is." I smiled at Jayce's smart remarks, "Here, I have a vape if you want some real smoke."
He pulled out a black box with a hollow tube on the end of it. He put the end of the tube to his lips, pressed a button, and inhaled. He exhaled massive amounts of smoke, moe than I thought was possible. He blew tiny rings, and then a huge one that he split in half to create two smaller rings.
"Wanna try?" He held out the vape, and I agreed.
I pressed the button, inhaled, and exhaled with the same results as Jayce had. I blew a ring, and then blew a line of smoke through it, which then encircled the ring in a bigger but fainter ring.
"You've GOTTA teach me how to do that. I've been trying to do the jellyfish for ages and can't get it right!"Jayce jumped up as I agreed to show him my tricks.

After a few minutes of explaining, I heard Owen yell "LAND HO!" and saw that we were finally approaching McDonald's. Jayce and I stayed to the back and decided to wait in the back parking lot since we weren't that hungry anyways.
"So, just blow a ring, move your hand slowly forward," I grabbed his hand and slowly showed him the motions, "And then just blow smoke through it when you feel like the ring is big enough."
I pulled the vape out from my sweatshirt pocket and handed it to him. I could tell he was nervous, scared he might mess up in front of me. He looked up at me and I nodded, agreeing that he could try the trick. I wathced anxiously as he took a deep breath in, and then exhaled smoke. I smiled as he blew a ring and followed it with his hand like I had showed him. He was waiting for the perfect time, and when it came, he blew the smoke through. The ring was slowly being encircled by a larger, fainer circle. Jayce's eyes grew wide with excitement as he ran over and high-fived me.
"That was so cool!" He exclaimed, and did it again. He did it over and over again until he thought of a new trick, "What if I could blow a ring through another ring?"
"Go for it." I smiled as I watched his many failed attempts at his trick, but smiled even wider when he accomplished his goal.
He ran back over and unexpectedly hugged me, which came with an apology.
"What are you sorry for? I could hug someone all day. Well, I could hug you all day. Probably not may other people because-"
"You don't like people? Yeah, me either." He smiled and hugged me again, but this time friendly and warm. I liked his presence, I liked the way his body was pressed to mine.
Damn, I think I'm going to have to get used to this whole 'hugging' thing.
