6. War Plans

The night was finally over, it was the longest I've had in a while. I felt exhausted but just by having her by my side I felt happy. When I opened my eyes the first thing I saw was her eyes staring back at me and her bright smile.

I knew that being there with her, protecting her, I felt good, but I had this knot in my throat, like a bad feeling. Last night I couldn't think clearly because all I could think was of fear. After clearing my mind it all came as a flood right to my brain, the Death Eaters made an easy retire for one reason, they were bigger in number than us and besides they were almost inside the district.

-Lily! - I whispered

-Yes? - She whispered back

- Don't you think that we kicked out the Death Eaters way too easy?

- I was thinking about that, to be honest if we think it clearly and logically, it's not normal that they left in the middle of the night, right when they were about to get inside - It honestly surprised me to get such reasoning from her.

-We need to talk to Sirius and Regulus about this.

We went upstairs to Bellatrix's room, where Sirius and Regulus were sleeping, it didn't surprise me that they were still asleep. Even thought it was still early, both of them were alert all of the night. We approached a desk that Bellatrix had in her bedroom, laying there a pile of books and a map of the district.

-Lily and I think that the withdrawal of the Death Eathers is hiding something, we didn't even fight to the whole group to repel them - I said, sitting in a high back chair.

-Believe it or not mate, I thought the same thing though I didn't say anything - Sirius added with a hint of nervousness in the face.

-We need to make some kind of plan, we can attack them while they prepare to lash out - Said Regulus optimistically - The thing is how to attract them to de gates, if they left of course. Besides we need reinforcement on our side.

-We can talk to the people to join us in the battle. And without saying any plan, we guide them to strategic locations around the gates and the exit to the sea so we can defend - Lily said.

The situation was spinning inside my head, I was already imagining the worst. But no... I had to get it all out of my mind and start acting and thinking positively.

-Where's Andromeda? - I asked

-She's staying at Remus's, her parents were killed last night by the Death Eaters.

That felt like a bucket of cold water pouring down my head. Mr. and Mrs. Lupin had been like my own parents after Evan and Dad's death. I had a huge knot in my throat, but in that moment I couldn't think about that, there was enough time left to think of that kind of stuff and feelings. My mind passed to the strategy and I focused on the defense of my home.

I couldn't explain to myself the fact that there were Death Eaters inside, in fact, they belonged to the district, like Bellatrix and Finnick. I had no idea of how they changed their attitudes overnight. Bellatrix who was so sweet ended up being crazy and with an insatiable thirst of blood, and Finnick at the end was a murderer. So taking in the fact that there were some of them in the district we should think about something to distract them from the climax of the battle.

- Guys! We should beware of Bellatrix and Finnick, they will be hanging around the house, so I think we should cast some spells - Lily suggested.

-One step at a time dear - Said Sirius - Bellatrix and Finnick have fought against us, they are the ones we have to keep away from the battle. But Of course, as soon as they catch a glimpse of us, they'll follow.
