Betty pushed through the door to her house, Archie and her supporting Jughead on the way in, the emergency centre had treated his wounds, and ejected the drugs from his blood. But the only other thing he could do was sleep it off.
It's what the doctor orded
"What on earth! Elizabeth Cooper? It's 6 am? where were you?" Alice stormed in, her foot tapping the cold stone floor
"I'll tell you later, Jughead needs a bed right now" Betty and Archie pushed past her mum to take him upstairs. and plopping him into her bed.
"No, you'll tell me now! Archie, I wouldn't mind if you left dear, your Dad's looking for you"
Archie took that as a warning sign and waved to Betty as he ran out the door.
Betty took no notice of her Mother, and sat next to Jughead, playing with the brim of his hat, she smiled, all she cared for was that he was home, and safe.
Betty jumped slightly from her bed when she felt her Mum sit next to her, "Mum, I had to" She mummer-ed, yawning
"Betty, get some rest, enough adventuring for today" Alice tutted, she knew her mum was still angry and she'd probably get the heat for it later, but for now she lead Betty into the spare room, part of her wanted to stay and look after Jughead, the other wanted to sink into the bed in front of her and never wake up.
Guess which one she chose
--
Jughead opened his eyes wearily, above him was the baby pink roof he only knew as Betty's. His head still ached, but he felt a heap better than he did before. What had happened? How had he ended up in Betty's bedroom?
He brought his fingers to graze the skin on his cheek, where the large cut was before, stitches now took its place, he slowly sat up to look at his leg, which was now wrapped in a bright blue cast,
he hated being immobile. It made him feel more useless than he already was
"Jug?" A tired looking Betty slumped at the door of her bedroom, dressed in the blood stained clothes from the night before
Jughead looked her over, noticing the bags under her eyes, and how hunched her body was. "Hey" He let out a small sigh, "Did you come looking for me?" He whispered, patting the seat next to him for Betty to sit
Betty smiled, walking slowly over to the bed and placing herself next to Jughead, "I'm glad we found you" she snaked her hand to meet his, trying not to doze off while at it. "You were hurt Jughead, when we found you this morning" she croaked, cuddling into his body for warmth, she laid her head on his chest and listened to the rhythmic beat of his heart.
"Your mum told me you payed for my treatment, how much Betty?" he glanced down at the blond, who was half asleep. "Don't be stupid, you're not paying me back" Betty sat up, using her hand to cup his cheek.
"Betty" Jughead attached a hand to her waist and used the other to swipe her hair out of her face, he was never going to convince her to let him pay
"sleep" he cooed softly.
Betty blinked, and brought her lips to his, Jughead shifted his hand up her waist to pull her closer, they were tender lovers, but each second would grow more needy and passionate. "Mm" Jughead mumbled breaking the kiss, "you need rest" he tilted her chin to face him, Betty giggled, this time practically smashing her lips on to his sending him buckling over onto his back on the bed. She pulled herself on top, His lips had become eager for hers, as if the more he got, the more he needed it.
Jughead wrestled his hands free, he swiftly grazed them up her side, tickling her. Her fit of laughter broke the kiss, Jughead had doubled over her, rubbing the spots she was sensitive in, making her blubber with giggles, this left Betty hopeless against his crafty hands.
The couple lay there in a war of tickles with eachother for a few solid minutes, until they slumped, breathless and parched.
"Jughead, never do that again" Betty sighed as she finally wrapped an arm around his waist and hugged her head against his chest.
"wait, never do the getting injured thing, or the tickling thing?" He smiled down at her, waving his hands through her golden hair
"both" She traced her free hand under his shirt and over his stomach.
--
The sun peaked over the house, letting shallow dollops of light through the blind's into her room. Betty yawned, scratching her head, Jughead laid next to her, peacefully snoozing, she watched his chest go up and down.
Betty jumped out and slumped across the room, opening the blinds,
"Ouch!" Jughead yelped helplessly, shielding his eyes from the sun-"what was that for?" He threw a pillow at Betty, it narrowly missed her.
"school" she sighed
"But it's 11 am! We're late already, plus, you could stay with me all day"
Betty smiled she turned, pulling the jumper she had worn to bed last night off her body, leaving her in her tan bra.
Even though he had seen her like this before, on a few occasions when he had knocked on her window at night or in the morning, it still made him blush.
"What?" Betty laughed at Jugheads pink tone.
Yep, this was the way he like it, no more deadly danger, just enough room in the world for them.
