Flashback: September the 28th, 2017.

-Lucia's p.o.v-

I was helping my mother to stand up when suddenly police officers barged into the horrific room we were in. "HANDS UP, EVERYONE. DROP YOUR GUNS", they were screaming loudly before they realized 2 out of the 4 people are unconcious.
"We're innocent! Please bring him to the hospital!" I screamed as I was pointing at Jame, still not moving at all. A moment later, ambulance staff appeared. They immediately started rolling my father and Jame on the stretcher into the ambulance. My mom and I stepped in afterwards.

I was staring out of the window of the ambulance-car. It's almost morning, I can tell by the dark blue sky. I'm scared to death, what if Jame really dies? I broke my promise to save Jame out of this. Instead, I let him down.

-1 day later-

"Yesterday, three injured people and one deceased human being have been found in the woods in Maysville, Kentucky. Apparently the deceased man was found to be a searched 'Serial Killer' with a total of 45 murders. He had kidnapped his 15 year old daughter, and her 15 year old friend. Aswell as his 45 year old ex-wife. The serial killer forced his daughter to shoot her friend, and she gave in, but the attempt failed. Later on the man was stabbed by his own daughter, and passed away. The shot boy is now in a coma, recovering in the hospital. The police is still doing research on what exactly happened."

We were still looking at the television as the news program was over. "Mom? Do you think Jame will be okay?" I asked as I was laying with my mom under the thick, warm blanket. "He will, I'm sure." I hope my mom isn't saying this just to comfort me. Either way, I appreciate her words. "Thank you mom, I love you." I rested my head on her shoulder.
"I love you too."

-Four months later-

-Jame's p.o.v-

Ughhh, my head hurts like hell, and my limbs feel heavy. I'm laying in a white, uncomfortable hospital bed in an empty room with medical tubes all over me. What the hell happened? I don't remember anything... When the obnoxious rhythm of the ticking clock started to slightly irritate me, the door in front of me suddenly went wide open. As I got startled, I quickly started to crumble myself into the corner of the bed. A friendly-looking teenage girl with long, brown hair and hazel eyes approached me. Who is she? "Jame, it's okay. I'm here, don't be scared." The girl said as she slowly walked up to me. How does she know my name? I started examining her face as she got closer and closer to me. When she went to sit down next to me, she suddenly gave me a crooked smile. The smile looked like as if she was happy to see me, but sad or guilty at the same time. "I haven't spoken to you in four months, I missed you so much Jame."
I don't know why, but this girl gives me a warm, unknown feeling on the inside.

Who are you?" I asked as I looked her in the eyes. I got confused when I noticed her eyes slowly getting watery. She sadly looked down to the ground as she said: "You- you don't remember me?" A tear fell onto the ground. She quickly wiped her eyes as if she was trying to hide it. "I'm sorry." I said, not wanting to make her feel any worse.

-Lucia's p.o.v-

"He doesn't recognize me at all?" The brain damage must've scarred him tremendously. I don't know if I'm crying out of happiness or sadness anymore. It's a miracle that Jame survived such a severe injury. The doctors were shocked at his recovery, they said that only few people in this world can manage to survive a gunshot. And Jame is one of them.
It's not his fault, I know that. It's all my fault, I have no excuses. Now that Jame lost his memory, I feel like punching myself in the gut. I deserve it. I figured I should ask Jame more questions, to... I don't know, maybe try to refresh his memory? "Jame, my name is Lucia. We're- we're friends." I said as Jame was still looking at me with a shocked and confused facial expression. "It's a long story, but you deserve to know what happened to yourself." I took a deep breath as I was mentally preparing myself for a breakdown. "I... -I was the one who shot you."
It went quiet. The tension is this room is destroying me, I'm shaking. "I sincerely understand that you're mad at me, I have no excuses. I'm so sorry Jame." I couldn't help myself but cry, with my head resting on the hospital bed. Jame: "Tell me everything." I looked up at him and told him everything from the beginning 'till the end.

"Lucia, I don't remember anything about you, but I do know that you're a good person", Jame said as he looked at me with a forgiving smile. "How could you forgive me? I nearly killed you. I don't understand."
Jame: "I believe you made the right choice, family is more important than friends." Suddenly Jame took my hand, and held it tight. "Don't cry, your smile is way too beautiful for that." I blushed like crazy as my heart started beating heavily. "T- thank you." I stuttered, still not looking at Jame out of embarrassment. "Hey, look!" Jame pointed at the window. When I looked, I was stunned by the uncountable amount of stars shining in the dark sky. "It's beautiful." I said as I was still staring through the window. "Just like you."
Before I knew it, our faces were just two inches apart. I closed my eyes as our lips met.

After a few seconds, Jame pulled away. He looked surprised for some reason. I wonder why?

"Lucia, I don't know how it happened but... I suddenly remember everything." I looked at him in surprise as I let out a relieved smile. "Really! I'm so happy!" We hugged each other as tight as possible. When we pulled away, Jame looked at me with a serious expression again. He was staring at me in the eyes as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "Is this what they call love?"
"I think so." He let out a chuckle as he kissed me again.
