Bright mornings and frosted leaves, warm breath in cold air and morning runs. Laughing so hard your stomach hurts and getting the room's attention with just one word. Pillow fights and wind in your hair, the anticipation at the top of a rollercoaster and freezing hands and rosy cheeks. Finger painting and blanket forts when really "you're too old". Forehead kisses and cloud spotting. Oversized jumpers and creamy hot chocolate Humming a tune. Perfect creases and cold-water drinks at night. Brushing Your teeth and drinking through a straw. Saying long words but not knowing how to pronounce them.
Inside jokes and secret smiles, conversations in your head when no one's around. Old pictures and scrapbook mayhem. Cute pens and neat writing but messy heads full of ideas. Freshly painted nails and colour coordinated outfits. The smell of a familiar house and choruses of hellos. Warm baths and glittery cheeks with sunlit hair.
Hugging someone and they hug back tighter. Packing for a holiday and making a stranger smile. Perfectly peeling off a sticker the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Bare feet on grass and cutting wrapping paper when your scissors glide. Coming up with the perfect comeback at the correct time
Fresh bed sheets and peeling the whole orange in one go. Strangers giving you the change that youre short of. Finding money in your pocket or being given the last chip. The perfect high five first time. Looking at someone and they understand exactly what you mean without any facial expressions. Drawing the perfect circle with no compass and the collective countdowns to new year.
