dimple

When Taehyung found out about the song that the vocal unit was singing, he found it quite fitting to his own love life.

Taehyung licked his lips as he looked at the sheet of music in front of him.

"We're singing about dimples?" he whispered to Jin.

"Yeah. I guess," Jin replied, yawning.

"It's some cheesy love song Namjoon wrote," Jungkook said, smirking. "He's a little narcissistic, don't you think hyung?"

Taehyung agreed and laughed, settling down only when they were told to focus on their lines.

He scanned the lyrics and bit his lip.
"Dimples, huh?" A rectangular grin ghosted his face.

"Those dimples are illegal, no it's dangerous, oh yes"

Taehyung blew his bangs out of his face as he sat on the couch in the living room of their dorm, waiting for his hyungs to finish showering so he could have his turn.

His hair, greyish and long, was drenched in sweat, and he huffed. "Why did I have to have this long ass hair for the comeback?" he muttered to himself.

Earlier that day they were practicing the dance for DNA, and he spent half of the time fumbling with his parts and the other watching Hoseok as he danced with a fiery passion, simultaneously cute and sexy, Taehyung wishing he could replay the moments over and over again.

He sighed thinking about it, resting his head on the back of the couch cushions. How can someone be so great?

"Taehyung."

Speaking of greatness, there he was in the flesh: Hoseok, with newly dyed red hair, smiling and looking relaxed and happy even after a rigorous practice session.

"You look tired," Hoseok said, smirking. He took a seat next to Taehyung and sat up straight, the way he usually seemed to be sitting, somewhat tense.

"Yeah, I'm exhausted," Taehyung groaned, head lolling to the side, causing a few locks of his hair to tickle Hoseok's neck.

Words sat on the tip of his tongue as he saw Hoseok's small grin in the corner of his eyes, the way the older hid his hardships behind bright eyes and even brighter laughs.

He wanted to say something but didn't because in a few seconds Hoseok got up for his turn in the shower, and Taehyung was left looking at him longingly, aware of the space he left behind.

■"I'll call you illegirl"■

They went out to dinner that night. Well, all of them but Taehyung and Hoseok, who didn't get the memo.

"Hey, hyung," Taehyung greeted. "Guess we're eating leftovers tonight, huh?"

"Yup," Hoseok responded, lacking his usual enthusiasm, yawning.

"I'm going to heat up some ramyun. Do you want some too?"

Hoseok nodded, resting his head on the table, red hair falling in soft lines, loose shirt hanging off of muscles and calluses matching the scrapes on the once pristine floors of their practice room.

Taehyung started to heat up some water, and his mind wandered to what he and Hoseok used to be. He remembers back in their rookie days, when Hoseok would hold his hand in that reassuring way of his and guide him around the venues they were performing at, smile on lips forming words that meant everything and nothing at the same time. They were close, really, really close, and Taehyung couldn't help but fall for him.

He doesn't know what happened, but he suspects the reason Hoseok started distancing himself was because of the cameras, the cameras that would capture their gentle touches and picture them as something else. He was far now, really far, and all Taehyung could do was stare and, on occasion, compliment him.

Hoseok was so pretty.

Taehyung knew that for a fact as he stole a glance at him, Hoseok's eyes fluttering shut, lips in a small pout, hands cupping his face, framed by cascading, blood red hair.

He grinned a little, and once again his dimples showed. Taehyung thought of that damn song, thought of the awe inspiring boy with a lean body and a happy demeanor. As he thought, a rectangular smile ghosted his face.

He didn't realize he was humming until Hoseok pointed it out to him, and he immediately stopped.

"No! Don't stop. Your voice is super pretty," Hoseok whined.

So Taehyung continued humming, all the while glancing at the dimpled face that drove him insane, that he could never stop thinking is--

"Perfect."

Suddenly he was behind Taehyung, grabbing at his cup of ramyun with slender fingers, hands that Taehyung urged to grasp but never did.

"Every time I see them, my heart becomes dangerous"

Hoseok looked to be pondering something as he ate, cheeks bunched up and eyebrows furrowed slightly.

Taehyung found it irresistibly cute.

"Hyung, did you know that you have dimples?" Taehyung blurted out. "They're really prominent when you eat."

Hoseok laughed, looking up from the food he was previously munching on. "Yes, Tae," he replied, cheeks red in surprise. "I know I have dimples."

Hoseok resumed eating, and Taehyung willed himself to say something, anything to show the way he felt.

But he was scared and stupid and Hoseok was too perfect for someone like him, yet he envisioned what their romance would encompass, imagined stealing kisses and holding hands and tasting smiles and staring at the dimples of his face until the picturesque image of Hoseok eating in loose clothing is engrained into his mind and the other male blushes and wills him to stop staring.

And. There's always more to add on to the list of things Taehyung wishes would happen but never does, the lingering aftertaste of something he's never tried bittersweet on his tongue.

And then he does.

"I love you," he says, years of emotion accumulating into three simple words slipping out of his mouth, sounding as sincere and sure as they had always meant to him.

Hoseok's eyes widened and he started choking on his food, coughing loudly until the unchewed ramyun had stopped blocking his esophagus. He regained composure, clearing his throat. "You don't mean that, Tae."

"I do." Taehyung laughed, heart light after saying what he's wanted to say for what seems like an eternity. "I really fucking love you."

Hoseok's lips formed a shy smile, and again the dimples showed up. Taehyung reached across the table and poked them, Hoseok meeting his eyes, cloudy gaze lighting up.

"Your dimples are illegal," Taehyung whispered, smiling brightly.

Short lil thing about the new vhope anthem (and namjin, but both are just my opinions).
I love the song, and although I'm not sure if Namjoon wrote any of the lyrics or not, I can't help but make him a bit of a dorky narcissist.
