"What do you think?" Taren asked as she turned my body toward her full length mirror.
I stared into the mirror. The outfit she picked out was perfect for my style. It wasn't too showy, or too fancy. It was casual, yet chic. I had on a pair of her high waisted light blue jeans that had roughed up holes in the thighs with a loose white t-shirt and a red and nude plaid scarf wrapped around my neck. She had picked out a pair of cute nude lace like ankle boots. "I might just have to shy away from my oversized quirky t-shirts." I noted.
"Yes, please! I like when you wear things other than your t-shirts. Plus you should start letting your hair out of that French braid every so often. You have really pretty wavy hair."
I looked at my dark chocolate hair that made my skin look paler than it was. I had let it air dry after the shower this morning leaving it to do its own thing. It created pretty beach like waves which probably formed from wearing my hair in a braid everyday for the past year. "Yeah, I just get annoyed with my hair being in my face all the time. That's the main reason I put it in that braid."
"Well, you're going to have to get over it because it's really pretty and no one can notice it if it's in that braid. Now, what do you think about me?"
I looked over at her outfit. She had on a pair of black jeans with rips near the knees. She wore a tight smooth pasty army green v-neck shirt that accentuated her figure well, along with a black thick lace choker necklace. She had on black leather ankle boots that matched her pants. "You look hawt." I said while wiggling my eyebrows.
She laughed and wiggled her eyebrows with me. "Perfect, now let's flee this party less house." She said as she grabbed her keys and wallet. I followed her to her black BMW and hoped in. We drove for twenty minutes to a dirt road that lead to a clearing deep in the woods. As we neared the spot, we could see the warm glow of the large bonfire and the Christmas lights that were powered by a generator off to the side. We parked where everyone else had parked on the other end of the clearing and walked toward the crowd of people that were dancing to loud music that was coming from two large speakers on the other side of the fire.
"Look everyone, the party has finally arrived!" The sexy deep voice of a jacked up quarterback yelled as he ran up to Taren. Jake wrapped his arms around her as he planted sloppy kiss on her lips.
"Jake, enough." Taren shoved him off. "You're already drunk?"
The Blond hottie laughed as he wiped his lips with his long sleeve blue jean shirt. "Of course!" He said as he looked over at me. "Well, if it isn't Sara. I see you swayed away from the normal t-shirt trend and dressed up for the occasion." He winked.
"Jake, go hit on your girlfriend." Taren rolled her eyes. "She right over there by the keg.
Jake turned to face Allie and stumbled off when he met her gaze. I turned to look at Taren. "Well that was unexpected." I laughed.
"Jake kisses someone new every time he gets drunk. It was only a matter of time before I was the unfortunate one." She smiled as her eyes caught a hold of someone off in the distance. "Hey, let's head this way, toward the fire." She said slyly.
I followed her willingly as we dodged people who were dancing to the upbeat music. She stopped as she reached a small group of people talking. One of the people being Nate King. The glow of the fire bounced off Nate's smooth tan skin, flowing down his high cheek bones, over his strong square jaw down his neck to the color of his black buttoned up shirt. His translucent blue eyes looked almost like halos in the light of the fire. His milk chocolate hair swooped from one side of his face to the other create a wave look. His lips curled up into a smile showing off his perfectly lined teeth. The fire made him look more mysteriously handsome Han he already was.
