Unrequited love

Once there was a girl who used to yearn for the feeling of love
Seeing couples hugging on a cold winter night makes her sigh deeply
Years after years, she would pray from high above
Hoping that her prayers would be heard sincerely

People would come and go in her simple boring life
Her heart would flutter as she keeps on falling for the wrong one
Nothing stays forever as they always ended it with a strife
On a hot day, she found herself alone looking at the sun

Thinking that there must be something wrong with her
For love was never there to catch her everytime she falls
Tears began to fall as her heart and outlook in love turns bitter
Her smile vanishes as a past memory recalls

The once hopeful girl could only just shrug at every couple that she sees
There was no more room for love in her heart
For she sees it as a disease
Day by day, her heart could no longer tell a happy ending apart

That once cheerful girl who never sees love has changed, all because of an unrequited love
