The girl opened her eyes. She still had spots in her vision, but they started shrinking and were gone at last.
She sat up and looked around. It was pitch black, but as her vision got used to it, she started seeing everything.
She was in a small room, with only a mat -which she was sleeping on. She slowly rose up, trembling in she very wrong move. Her sore muscles and aching body was weak. Very weak.
She looked at her arms. They were full of black and purple spots, covering most of her pale skin. Her body was full of knife scars and bruises.
As she touched her ribs, she nearly screamed, but bit her lip to keep the sound from escaping. They were broken, that was for sure.
As she looked over her body, searching for broken bones and sprained muscles, the door started creaking. She literally threw herself to the ground and whimpered silently.
The door burst open and as the broad daylight that hurt her eyes made the girl blink.
There was an old man staring at her through the light.
He looks like Jesus, she thought to herself. Am I in Heaven?
No, it can't be. My body still hurts.

"Are you okay?" said the man as he came closer.
The girl whimpered in pain as he touched her back.
"Oh, so many broken bones! What have they done to you, child?" the man asked, waving his wand. The girl immediately felt better. She saw her bruises go away and felt her bones bind together.
"A-am I d-dead? You l-look like Jesus." the girl whispered.
The man chuckled.
"You're not dead. Come, I'll get you out of here and heal you."
He waved his hand and the girl flew up, then stood on her feet.
Her eyes widened.
"Are you a mage?"
The man nodded.
"Yes, but I'm called a wizard or a sorcerer. My name is Albus Dumbledore, and you are?" he asked.
"Angelena I-don't-know-my-last-name. Nice to meet you." the girl said, her stuttering stopping.
"Are you okay?" the man repeated his first question.
Angelena nodded.
"I'm used to it. Those men -I don't know who they are- have kept me here for a long time. Let's see-" she walked up to a wall, slightly stumbling.
She counted the marks on there, then turned around.
"-I've been here for 791 days." she said, her face not even showing an emotion.
The man nodded his head sadly.
"I'm very sorry my dear. Today is your birthday, right? It's Halloween." he said.
The girl nodded.
"Yes, I believe I turn 11 today."
The man nodded.
"Indeed. I'm here to take you to your new school. It's a school for witches and wizards. It's called-"
"Hogwarts." the girl cut in.
The man raised his eyebrows.
"How did you know?" he asked.
"It was a guess," the girl said shyly. "The men sometimes talk about there. They seem to have hate it."
Dumbledore nodded.
"Will you come to Hogwarts, child?" he asked.
"Call me Angelena, sir. Are you a Professor there?" the girl asked.
"I'm Headmaster, actually." he said.
"Well, its good to know that your Headmaster is a good man." the girl said. "Where do I get my books?"
"I've already bought them. Come, we'll go find you a pet." he said, and held out his arm.
"We'll apparate there." he said.
"Is that like teleporting?" Angelena asked.
"Exactly. I'll tell you everything you should know about the wizarding world as we buy your pet." Angelena held his arms and felt the darkness take them inside. She tried to scream but she couldn't. Everything wobbled really bad, but stopped after a few second and the world became clear.
She groaned.
"That was not impressive. If I had anything in my stomach, they'd be emptied by now." Her stomach rumbled in response.
Dumbledore chuckled.
"We'll eat something after we get you a pet. Oh, I almost forgot: a wand too, we must buy you." he said.
They started walking as Dumbledore talked about everything he knew about the wizarding world.

As they reached the pet shop, Angelena had already learned most of what she could about the wizarding world.
They got in, and a woman inside turned to them.
"Hello, Albus. Who do you have here?" she asked curiously, looking at the little girl.
"This is Angelena. She wants to buy her pet." the man said.
The woman nodded.
"Well, dear. What do you want? An owl, a cat, a toad?" she asked.
"I'd like to see the owls." the girl said thoughtfully.
The woman nodded.
"Of course! Come along, dear."
Angelena followed the woman and they stopped in front of a section with owls.
"Well go on, look around!" the woman said proudly.
Angelena looked at the owls and saw a beautiful owl that made her gasp.
It had black sparkling fur, with intelligent looking emerald green eyes.
"I want this one." she pointed.
The woman nodded.
"Fine choice, dear. She's very smart." she said, then quickly got it out of its place, putting it in a cage.
"10 galleons." the woman said to Dumbledore.
Angelena's eyes widened. That was a lot, according to what Dumbledore had said.
Dumbledore paid with a blank face, calm and not caring.
As they got out, Angelena turned to him.
"That was so much! Why did you pay?" she asked.
"It's a birthday present from me." he said.
Angelina smiled happily.
"Thank you!" she cried, then hugged him, taking him by surprise. She didn't care though. That was the first birthday present she'd ever gotten. She pulled back, apologising.
Dumbledore just chuckled.
"We should go to the wand shop, young one." he said.
Angeleno nodded.
As they walked towards the shop, Dumbledore continued his lesson with the wizarding world.
They stopped outside an old shop.
'Olliwander's Wand Shop', it said.
Dumbledore stood there.
"You go inside, I'll look for your owl. What's her name?" he asked.
Angelena thought for a minute.
"Shadow." she said finally as she got in.
