[A/N: It starts out boring but I promise it'll get better.]
Robin was on the set of Gotham and they were filming season three. For the time being, however, he desperately had to get himself in check. He fumbled over his lines far more than usual. It seemed he messed up most when filming with 'Ed', he couldn't place why though, he and Cory are best friends. Fortunately, today was the first day of filming for this episode so lots of people messed up. In his confusion and frustration, he began walking to his trailer, when he accidentally walked right into Cory. "Sorry.." he let out a nervous chuckle and Cory just laughed "It's cool Robin, you should probably pay more attention though." He smiled as a few more quiet chuckles fell out and Robin continued to his trailer, now at a quicker pace. He felt a warmth inside of him like his heart was sitting next to a fire on Christmas Eve. "What is this..?" He mumbled to himself while rubbing his chest. He hadn't realized that Cory had followed him back to his trailer and shortly after getting changed back into his clothes and settled down he heard a knock on the door. "Just a moment!" He put down his soda and script walking over to answer. He opened it and much to his surprise he sees Cory smiling awkwardly at him. "Oh.. um hello." Robin finally gets out. "Um.. O-oh uh, C-come on in!" He smiled and got out of the way.
Cory stepped up the stairs and closed the door behind him. "Sorry to interrupt, were you busy?" He asked seeing a bit of a mess on the coffee table. "Oh, no it's alright. I was just going over my lines." Robin replied with a smile. "You just seemed a bit out of it today, I was hoping I could help, if you want that is, I have most of my lines down." Cory grinned. This was a chance to spend time alone with Robin, something he seldom got to enjoy. "That'd be great." Robin walked over to the coffee table to grab the script not noticing Cory following him so when he turned back towards where his friend had previously been he unexpectedly bumped right into Cory. Again. "You're usually pretty aware of your surroundings Robin, are you doing okay?" He tensed up and stared at the man in front of him feeling that fire again. "Y-yes, I, uh, I'm fine, you're-you walk really quietly." The raven headed man stuttered out awkwardly in response. "Hm.. sounds fake but okay." He said quizzically but dropped it regardless.
Cory flopped onto the sofa and grabbed the script scanning over it. "Why don't we start here?" Cory said pointing at the scene where Oswald sat alone at the dinner table. Robin sits very close to Cory on the sofa so they can both read the script, Cory's heart began to race and so does Robin's. Robin blushes faintly as he reads the next line.
"What I've been trying to tell you all day is... Cor-E-Ed. Ugh, fuck.." Robin sighed and laughed softly.
"What I've been trying to tell you all day is... Ed.. I... I love you."
Cory knew he was just reading his lines, but that stumble.. no. That's all it was; a stumble. Nothing more. But still.. hearing Robin say those words caused a pang in Cory's chest. "Good job, Robin but I.. have a question." Robin looked at Cory "Yeah?" He had calmed down finally, being close to Cory made him feel safe. The taller man cleared his throat and spoke in a soft tone "You've never accidentally said my name instead of Ed's before so.. why this time?" Robin felt a painful throb in his chest "I-I-I just messed up, that's all." He winced at how ridiculous he sounded. "I've just had a lot on my mind lately..." Cory's eyes showed concern as he pulled Robin into a hug. "You can tell me anything, you know that right?" Robin nods slightly in response. "I don't really know where to start... I.. Dicky and I aren't really.. getting along anymore." He walks over to his sink and wets a cloth scrubbing his arm clean of the make up he'd applied and hid timidly as he returned to the couch showing bruises on his wrists. "There's even more on my stomach and legs..." He whispered. "He.. doesn't like how I look at you.. and how fans 'ship' us.. but mostly he just gets angry all the time.. I do everything I can I-" his eyes well up and he pauses to calm down a bit. Cory quickly pulls him into a hug. "Shhhh..." He says "hey... hey, I'm here okay? I'm here.." he whispered softly into the smaller man's ear "I will never hurt you, Robin."
Robin sniffs and lays his forehead against Cory's shoulder. Soon enough he calms down a bit and pulls away to look at his dear friend. "He thinks I love you and not him... And I.." he stopped and shook his head slowly. "No.." he mumbles to himself and Cory lifts Robin's head curiosity blurring his reason. "You what?" He pushed on slightly. Robin shook his head again and tried to look down. "Robin, you can tell me anything." Cory said again in a reassuring tone. "I.. I think he might be right..." Robin said in a barely audible whisper and blushed. Cory was shocked but happy,
I should tell him, no he's married, but it's a horrible marriage, I love him, I probably shouldn't confess-
Before he could even realize what he was doing Cory had leaned in to kiss Robin.
Even more to his surprise, Robin was kissing him back. The kiss was full of passion and emotion, it went on for a few more seconds and Robin let out a quiet whine when Cory pulled away. "I love you too, Robin, I have for a while now.."
