I ran because I thought I killed him.
Joseph's blood was on my hands, my clothes, my skin... and in that moment, I believed it was the only way to survive. So I fled into the night with the tiny life inside me as my only reason to keep breathing.
Yzerfontein was supposed to be the end of the nightmare.
A place to hide.
A place where no one knew my name.
But nightmares don't stay buried.
Just when I start to believe I can build a life for my baby, the truth hits me harder than any punch Joseph ever gave me:
Someone is coming for me.
And it's not a ghost.
