It was later that day and Robin couldn't stop smiling as he drove back home. He had reapplied the makeup on his arms so that his husband wouldn't suspect that Robin had told anyone. He parked and walked up to his apartment, as he unlocked the door his smile disappeared from his face and he walked in. He put his keys in his pocket and made sure his phone was locked and on silent. "I-I'm home!" He said, knowing if he didn't announce himself he'd be in trouble. When there was no response he sighed in relief.
Cory was laying on his couch reading some comics when he gets a text. He opens his phone to see it's from Robin.
Ozzie:
Hey, Dick's not home, I don't know when he will be, if I pack a suitcase of some of my stuff can I stay with you for a bit? I can bring a few bottles of wine.
Cory smiled brightly and replied with
Absolutely, spaghetti for dinner.
And got up to start cooking. He put the pasta on the back burner and made the sauce from fresh tomatoes from his mini garden, some tomato paste and a bit of pre-canned sauce. He made sure the seasonings were perfect and strained the noodles. He puts both burners on low and brings down two somewhat large wine glasses.
About ten minutes later there's a quiet knock on the door and Cory hops up and opens it, greeting Robin with a hug and a kiss on top of his head causing him to blush a bit. "Come on in." He stepped to the side holding the door open. Robin comes in dragging his suitcase behind him. Putting it next to the TV he opens it up and grabs three large bottles of pink wine. Cory grins. "So, you said spaghetti." Robin laughed and followed Cory to the kitchen, setting the bottles on the counter he hugged the taller man from behind and mumbled quietly "I know I shouldn't love you... But I can't seem to stay away." Cory heard him and smiled to himself. "You know, you don't have to feel bad, my little bird. It's alright. Why should you love Dicky after how much he's hurt you? He covers you in bruises and treats you horribly..." He sighs sadly and grimaces at the thought. "You can stay here with me for as long as you want. There's even a spare room if you don't want to share with me." He turned around in Robin's grasp and placed a gentle hand on the shorter man's cheek. Robin flinched and closed his eyes but soon leaned into the warm hand on his face, softly kissing the palm.
"Let's eat dinner." Cory said and stepped closer to the stove to serve up two plates of spaghetti, sprinkling cheese and basil on top of it. Robin filled the two glasses and placed them, along with the bottle, on the table then sat when he saw Cory walking over. He placed a plate in front of Robin and sat across from him. "This looks and smells fantastic." Robin exclaimed and twisted some around the fork taking a large bite and moaning at the taste. "I never pegged you as a cook." He joked, his mouth still half full. A scoff like laugh escaped the taller man as he took a long swig of his wine. "I'm not, spaghetti is like, the only thing I know how to make." He laughed again now that his mouth was empty and Robin let out a quiet chuckle. "That makes more sense." Cory scoffed "What are you implying, Robin?" Robin smirked "Well if you were a good cook too you'd have everything. The looks, the charm, the voice. It wouldn't be fair at all now would it?" Cory grinned "You think I'm charming?" Robin tried to glare but ended up laughing instead.
They finished dinner and now they were sitting on the couch opening up the second bottle of wine. "You know, if you get me drunk we might do something we shouldn't." Robin teased and Cory snorted in response. "What makes you say we shouldn't?" Robin's face turned pink and Cory smirked. "You're so cute when you blush.." Cory whispered softly into Robin's ear. "I hope to see that face more and more every day, my little bird." His face turns even redder and he opens his mouth to speak but has nothing to say and hides his flustered face in his hands. Cory smiles and pulls them away giving Robin a gentle peck on the nose. "Alright, alright, I'll stop." He let go and poured the next two glasses. "For now." He added.
