- No POV -

Richie drove around the small town, his car being one of the only vehicles that were actually out on the street this late at night.

He was really enjoying his time with Eddie, and he didn't want this night to end so quickly.

"Wanna get some ice cream?" Richie asked, giving his childhood friend a suggestive glance. "You know you want to."

Eddie smiled shyly as he looked down at the floorboard that was littered with food wrappers and other random objects. "Yeah. Are you sure their open?" He questioned.

Richie nodded as he focused on driving. "They stay open late. I always come here when I'm really hungry and it's late, if you can't already tell from the mess in here."

Eddie had already noticed how messy the interior of the car was. His eyes widened out of surprise as he looked down, accidentally spotting some unopened condoms laying between their seats.

Richie laughed as he realized what Eddie had discovered. "What? A guy's gotta get laid every now and then." He teased. "How about you, Eds?"

Eddie looked away from the mess and into Richie's eyes instead. "What?"

"Are you still a virgin?" Richie asked in a completely serious tone.

Eddie felt his cheeks burning and his head pounding as he started to have some wild thoughts racing through his head. His mouth clung open uselessly as he tried to answer the question, but he couldn't even think of the right words.

"To be honest, I haven't even had the chance to use any of those yet." Richie confessed in a rather ashamed tone. "I'd like to have sex with someone at some point, but I guess it's just not happening for me any time soon."

Eddie found that very hard to believe.

Richie was so good looking, funny, and outgoing.

He was an all around amazing person.

Any girl would want to be with him, right?

"I'm saving it for someone special. I don't want to just have sex. I want it to mean something." Eddie finally responded, crossing his arms nervously and avoiding eye contact with his lifelong crush out of embarrassment. "It probably sounds crazy coming from a guy..."

Neither of the boys expected their conversation to take such an awkward turn.

Richie didn't mind talking about personal things like this, though. He was smiling contently as he listened to one of Eddie's secret desires.

He was falling for his best friend all over again, and he couldn't help himself. He didn't mind being the one that Eddie came to whenever he needed to talk. He wanted to be that person that Eddie always turned to no matter what.

"It doesn't sound crazy to me." Richie noted before he finally turned into the parking area of one of the small diners located in the center of Derry. "We're here."

Eddie exhaled a lengthy breath, squirming around slightly in the passengers seat as he awaited Richie's next move.

"I'm going to run inside and get our ice cream. You still like vanilla?" He asked with a heartwarming smile.
