***Hi, Chapter 3 is very shocking, however I do guarantee that the rest of the book won't be mainly based around this chapter's events. Please comment, vote or fan: helps out a lot! Thanks***
I shoved the house key in the lock and pushed the door as hard as I could. I shuddered, at the sound of its bang against the wall. Squirming my eyes, I awaited to get told off by my mum for the countless time this week, because apparently plastering the wall will be paid for by moi! (Just in case you didn't figure it out: that ain't happening!) But, what I was pleasantly surprised to hear was silence. Silence which I had been longing for the whole school day, especially after Nat's confrontation.
I threw my bag against the floor in the reception, and hanged up my Burberry coat at the bottom of the stairwell. It was weird coming home to an empty house after school. It didn't happened often, but I actually liked having a few hours to myself. Anyway, I made my way to the kitchen, only to find a carefully placed note on the ceramic work top by the fridge. Picking it up, I mumbled the words to myself:
Harps;
Your father and I had to leave town for a conference this evening, we most likely won't be back home until tomorrow evening. I've prepared Mac n' Cheese for you and Steven in the fridge. Sorry for not telling you before. Please behave.
Love,
Mum x
"Conference, huh?" I muttered to myself, a little bit annoyed that when I need my mum the most, she abandoned my for a conference meeting, most likely, about some new marketing business.
"Steven?" I called out into the hallway directed up the staircase, however received no reply. I was just about to march upstairs and check for him, when I noticed an abnormal pair of heels under the coat hangers. I walked over for a closer inspection. A nude colour, thin heel and a thick sole. I picked one up and read aloud.
"Kurt Geiger" Hmm...I didn't know who these shoes belonged to, but whoever it was, they sure as hell had good taste. Still checking the shoe out, I heard a slightly high pitched voice say.
"Pretty, aren't they?" I lost focus and dropped the heel, looking up to the stairs where the voice came from. There, in the sunlight draping from the window, stood a perfectly proportioned figure. I squinted at the girl, whilst the sun light blinded my eyes.
"Sorry!" I notified, reaching the floor to place the shoe in it's original place.
"Oh, don't worry! I understand. Couldn't stop looking at them myself when I got them for my brithday" she clarified.
"Sorry, forgive me if this sounds rude, but who are you?"
She laughed at my oblivion, and stepped down from the stairs onto the floor landing. Covering the sun with my hand, I saw her beautiful long blond hair against her sun-kissed skin. She had blue eyes, and was wearing a yellow frilly top, matched with some skinny denim jeans: she looked stunning. I then started to recognise her, and came to a conclusion that she was the head of the cheerleading team at my school (I saw her when I went to Steven's end of season's rugby match).
"Hi, I'm Olivia!" she said with a unrepeatable smile, not really explaining what she was doing in my house.
"Harper" I countered up, hoping I would receive an insight on why she was here. However, it seemed she wasn't to keen on revealing the purpose of her visit and just walked by me, bare foot, into the kitchen.
"Steven said I could grab a coke from the kitchen. Are they in the fridge?" Olivia asked curiously, as I followed her into the kitchen.
Steven? What the hell? Why was she here to see Steven? Is she his girlfriend? Are they dating? Cause if they are...sorry Steven, but she is way out of your league. Steven may be athletic, but doesn't compare at all to the others in his teams, which other girls in my year call 'hunks'.
"Harper?" she asked with a hesitant smile "Are you there?" leaning her head to the side and searching for my eyes, she giggled like a little school girl.
"Oh, um, yeah, sorry, I got lost in my own thought" I clarified, whilst staring at her golden locks.
"So, um, where is the coke?" she repeated.
"Oh!" I exclaimed louder than I intended to "Sorry!" I giggled. "It's in the fridge!" I responded.
"Thanks" she mentioned kindly. Winked at me and turned around.
Why was she winking at me? That's weird? Maybe that's a friendly thing to do nowadays?
I was about to make my way to wash my hands in the sink, when she opened the fridge door.
"I can't see it" she said whilst rummaging in the fridge.
"It might be in one of the draws" I suggested. I then heard Stevens footsteps on the top stairs. He leaned out of the stair rails and shouted:
"Olivia? What's taking you so long?"
"Oh nothing! Looking for the coke cans!" Olivia reassured Steven.
"Want help?" he offered, heading back upstairs.
"No, I'm fine! Harper's helping me!"
"Harper?" Steven questioned. He leaned back out of the railings. "Oh, hey Harper!" he greeted.
"Hey!" I quickly said back as I heard him running back upstairs and shutting his room.
"Harper, I can't see them." she backed out of the fridge and allowed me to move in.
Freezing air hit me and my face, as I started looking for the Coca Cola in the top shelves. I then started moving down and stopped at when I saw them in the last draw (Wow! Maybe she was a perfect match for my brother- my brother too can't find anything, even though it's right in front of his eyes!).
I opened the draw and started to take a Coke can out of its plastic packaging, when I felt a warm hand touch on my thigh. I stopped, when I felt it move up to my hips and froze awkwardly not knowing what to do. Suddenly my heart started racing and instead of feeling the cold air from the fridge, I felt hot and uncomfortable.
After a few motionless seconds I stood up and turned around. There I saw Olivia, with a smile sneaking onto her face. She took her hand off my hip and closed the fridge door in a slow motion. She then took both of her hands and put them against the fridge whilst she pushed me against it. I felt worry and helplessness as she leaned into me. Her soft lips suddenly felt against my chipped ones and she stuffed her tongue down my throat. At first I resisted, but then gave in. Her body moved slowly into mine and pressed me against the cold fridge. She then took one hand off my back and grabbed my rear end and pushed it against herself. I brought my hands to her shoulders and instantly shoved her back.
"What the hell?" I said in a worried whisper.
"Oh come on!" Olivia said back to me with a smirk.
"Olivia?" Steven shouted from above the stairs.
"Coming!" she said casually as if nothing had happened.
She started to make her way out of the kitchen, but then turned around winked at me and turned back to face the stairs. Still standing by the fridge, I felt confused. Confused by what had just happened, And confused by what Olivia's intentions were. I let out a huge sigh, fixed myself up, grabbed a coke and ran silently upstairs. I only knew one thing for certain: I wasn't hungry for Mac n' Cheese anymore!
