I brushed Mae's small bangs then curled it as she bragged about her bass play during band practice.

I cut her off "3 more days till we're done with high school Mae..." I frowned but continue till she moved my paws away from her small flank. "I know Dude... It's crazy that I'll be leaving to college and you'll be working for your Dad!" My frown turns thin "Yeah" Mae sat up facing me "Don't worry Yn I'm sure He's not who he used to be!!!!" She shouted with joy, Mae grabbed my shirt and crumble it "Hopefully"

Her paw grabbed my cheeks "If he tries anything I promise to you something Yn" heat travel to my cheeks "If he touches you or harms you... I'll tell Greg to do some crimes with me!" I laugh then snorted "Chill Mae!!" I slapped her back as her wide smile cast down "I'm serious Yn... Can't have my best friend harmed..." nodding understanding her seriousness. Her mother busted the door down with a tray of milk and snacks "Snack time ladies!!!"

I smiled as I bit into the warm cookies and while Mae braided my bangs. We continued this in silence till she broke it "Yn I'll miss you the most when I'm gone..." I blushed then rolled my eyes "Sure Mae" my smile widens as she sighs "Seriously Yn you where like... second childhood best friend Dude" my blush darkens "Awe bro! I'll miss you too Dude and Possum Springs!!" Her tail slightly wags signaling she is happy "Let's just stay in silence and relax and star gaze on the roof Bro."
With a nod, she open her window and we both sat on her roof just admiring the stars and stealing a few glances.

"Mae come on Bro!!! We're going to miss our gig dude!!!" I shouted as I looked on my dash board making sure I had gas in the tank "I'm going!!" She shouted from her window, I laughed and rolled my eyes as I wait for her.

I fixed my bangs making sure they look edgy nice for the party theme till I hear a bang and an irritated Mom "Mae stop slamming my door hun!!" I focus on Mae and her Mom giving hugs and sharing goodbyes. She hopped in "Start the car man! Gregg and Angus is waiting Bro!" I nod "No need to tell me twice" I replied towards her enthusiasm then started the car speeding off to Gregg's place ...

"Tomorrow is my last day Mae...." Mae nods and scratches her head "Yeah... Same here...." the two spoke quietly with their graduation gowns on and their hats on paws.

"Want to hang at my place... just for the last time?" My voice slightly cracks as she nods and hugs me till Gregg ran towards us with Angus "Hey guys!!!! " we both departed and waved at Gregg "Sup?" Gregg notices me and hugs me "Awe! Don't cry Mint. Me and Angus will miss you too!!! We all love you!!" Mae nods then the two joined us in a group hug.

We all went to Pastabilitys and celebrated our last day of high school and on Possum Springs. With a hearty meal, we all left but Mae came home with me and browse with her ears low.

"Sad to know my Best friend is really leaving and not returning once I graduate collage...." she looked in my half empty place then ran one of her paw on the picture frame of use spray painting random shit on Mae's aunt cop car, then another of use getting 'married' in the marriage booth. Her paw remained on that photo "Mae?" I took a step but stopped by her words "Remember when we got married as a joke but Gregg took it quite literally?!"

Mae turns around with a sad smile and tears "Awe Mae..." I opened my arms wide enough for her "Get yo ass over here Dude" she waddle towards me crying more so saying sorry and mumbling nonsense

I embraced her tightly and raked my paw in her flank as she cries in my chest "Their their... that's it let it all out..." we stayed like that for 5 minutes of her hyperventilating and dry crying till she stopped "May we have our last star gaze?" I nod and headed out to my roof.

I grabbed her hand then gazed at the stars as I felt her eyes land on my hand.
"Once you're back please don't forget me"
I spoke forcing myself not to cry then she took a moment to gaze into my mint eyes then said those amazing words.

"I love you Yn so much" then I replied "I love you too Mae through thick and thin."

The last thing we'll remember and treasure.
