Chapter 13

One week after Jessy's cake tasting. We had been busy with baking and trying to impress new customers. It so turns out Jessy's friend blabbed about my cake to other friends and I've been getting orders. Don't get me wrong because that is what I wanted. But getting as many as now is tiring. I feel drained at the end of every working day. I even need to catch up with outstanding orders. I had to employ two more staff to help. The workload was too much.

Working hard every day didn't give me the time to think about myself or what had happened between me and Evan. He had sent me messages and tried calling me several times for four days, but I ignored him. I regret avoiding him because Evan being his mighty self-took matter into his hands and decided to show up at my office to take me out for lunch and no excuses. No matter how busy I was, he won't take no for an answer. He decided to wait at the reception to wait for me.

He was a charmer and distraction and he knew it. You could imagine having a sex god sitting at the entrance of your store at the disposal of every woman to look. He started chatting and smiling exposing his perfect white teeth to every ladies that come in and out of my store. The truth was I felt jealous a bit, that perfect smile was supposed to be mine.

"Oh my god, I am crazy, thinking like that"

I later agreed to go out to lunch with him. my inner self-excuse was to take him away from the eyes that were on him, but he doesn't have to know about that. After lunch, he brought me back to my office. He didn't make an attempt to touch or kiss me like he usually does. I wonder why and I didn't like it at all.

"Oh shit, it's official. I am crazy. Blame it on Evan" I try to find excuses to deny what I am feeling.

Since then, I decided to be replying and picking his calls, because he promises to be back and do more than lunch if I ignore him again. What if I say I want that. I giggled at my perverted self.

After many days of work, I decided to go on a holiday and leaving the business for Nick to handle while I was away. I had made a plan with Cassy to go on a holiday in Paris, some months back and I am so excited about it.

Over the weekend I went shopping for holiday clothes with Cassy, I wanted to be free and got myself sexy clothes and much other sexy Lingerie. We even made plans to visit the club at least for two nights before the end of our holiday.

I hand over to Nick. I felt sorry leaving everything for him to handle while I'm gone enjoying myself. I kept apologizing to him.

"I'm so sorry Nick to leave all this work for you to handle. I had planned this holiday with Cassy without knowing it will be this busy" I said pouting.

"Hey, girl, enough of the apologizing, I can handle this. You need a break, you know" He said smiling at me.

"Oh Nick, you are an angel"I moved towards him hugging him dearly.

"You know, we should find a day that we all will go for a 3 days holiday sometimes. Even if it means closing down for it" I suggested

"That will be great, been a while I spent time with you girls" Nick replied still holding me to himself

"I will miss you," I said "My folders and work diary are in the drawer over there, you can check in case you need anything," I said as I pack my handbag to leave.

We will be traveling the next day, so I needed to rush home to pack.

"Okay girl" Nick nod

As I reached the door, I turn back to say, "Call me Nick if you need anything"

"Yeah, Yeah!, just get out of here" Nick held my shoulder pushing me out of the door.

"Okay, Okay" I laughed "Bye Love"

I got into the car and quickly drive home to arrange my bags. I connected my mobile to my car Bluetooth and decided to call Cassy to ask what she was doing. It didn't ring for long before she picked up.

"Hey pumpkin," she said

"Hey, trouble, What's up with you, have you finished packing?" I asked

"Yes, you know I didn't work at all yesterday so I decided to pack up"

"Okay, I am on my way home now to pack up. I just left the office to Nick. I really feel bad leaving him alone in all that."

"I am sure he will manage well, He is the best" She replied.

"Okay, just checking on you", I will talk to you later, Go to go"

"Okay buy Love" and I end the call.

I got myself Chinese food for tea as I drove home. I packed my things, arranged all my bags, had a quick shower to go to bed early. We will be waking up early to catch our plane.

I woke up around 4 am to dress up, Cassy will be coming over with a cab to get me, so we can get to the airport together. Our flight is at 8 am in the morning.

Cassy was at my door 5 am on the dot. "Hey girl, are you ready" She looks so excited

"Yes" I replied

it has been a while we went on a holiday to have fun. So since we are going now, we might as well make good use of the opportunity. We made plans to club, eat their best food, and even hook up if we clicked with any handsome species of a man.

During this holiday, I just want to enjoy myself and forget any thought about Evan. My head and mind have been clouded with Evan. I needed a breath of fresh air, get away from him and know what my feelings are towards him.

We got to the airport 30mintes later, checked in. Our journey was peaceful and comfortable. We booked the first class just to make sure we enjoyed our holiday to the fullest. We finished a bottle of wine by ourselves and a different plate of assorted foods, we were feeling a little tipsy that we slept off till we landed in Paris. Not to mention Cassy was a total flirt.

We stepped on the soil of Paris, we looked at ourselves smiling from ear to ear.

" Lets the fun begin". Cassy said.
