Now this one is very simple, mostly because we do have a canon answer to Castiel's Sexuality:
Castiel doesn't care. Man, woman, other; it doesn't matter to him. He could fall in love with anyone.
It most likely doesn't matter because Castiel has no gender. He's a celestial energy.
So technically Dean can be straight and date Castiel. Yes, his vessel is male, so physically it's a homosexual relationship, but in the sense of "Dean loves Castiel for who he is" It's a whole other story.Castiels previous vessel: (1901 I believe??)
But ignoring that fact that truly Cas has no gender in his original form, here's some evidence that favors "Cas is gay for Dean".

And a lot like to argue that this line was probably a joke but even if it was, think a out it: why would it be a joke? Why would it be even slightly relevant if it didn't hold some truth? Just something to think about. Not only do we see it, but canonically, Balthazar thinks the same thing we do.
