Quinn's story was amazing. I couldn't understand why Sven had to pay to Quinn's mother, but I was glad to know how Quinn's family have success.
I woke up. I looked at the clock and by it side was my mother standing.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey?"
"Remember you are punished. You can't go to school for two weeks."
"What do you expect me to do mom? This is my senior year, and I need to focus on school."
"That are the consequences of your punishment. You will ask for a friend to bring you your things."
"Nobody will do that mom!"
"Ask Quinn." That's when I got mad. My mother knows that Quinn is dead and I hate when she uses Quinn for bad.
"Quinn is dead mom."
"Louder."
"Quinn is dead mom! She can't be here because of you! She is dead because of you! That's why I hate you!" I said angrily to my mother. She took a deep breath and touched my knee.
"Phillip, I know you love me. I'm your mother." She said calmly. "So you will do what I say."
"What are you going to do about it?"
"Shannon will bring your stuff so you can study. You will stay here alone with nobody here."
"I'm home alone?"
"Yes Phillip."
"Okay."
"Fine. I will go to work now."
"Go to work." I said making her leave me alone. Then she finally left.
"Your mother, God!"
"What about her?"
"Remember when we were going to eat and I was trying to be nice and all she did was ignore me?"
"I remember, why?"
"Just saying."
I laid down on bed again feeling exhausted. Quinn laid down by my right side and spooned me.
"I loved when we used to do this." She said.
"Those were good days." I laughed.
"Why?" She asked.
"Why what?" I asked her back.
"Why did you broke up with me?"
"I told ya. I need to focus on school."
"You're lying."
"I swear I'm not!" I raised my voice to Quinn. She looked like she was hit. "I didn't meant to..."
"Fuck you." Quinn wasn't there anymore. She left.
I feel like an asshole. I have never treated well Quinn, neither now, and I feel like she doesn't desreve it. She should be treated nicely, but that ain't gonna happen, she is already dead.
What should I do on a Wednseday morning? I got downstairs and went to the kitchen. I took something to eat and a glass of milk. Then I watced some TV.
"Boring." I said as I changed the channels, but then I kept channel 5. They were talking about Quinn's mother.
"So Kelly, how it is for you to be a successful woman?"
"It is amazing, even though if it is hard. I work a lot but I spend time with my daughters too."
"Is it true that your daughter Quinn died?"
"I don't wanna talk about it."
"Shit!" I said watching the TV. They were going to talk about Quinn's death?
"But is it true?"
"Yes." Said Quinn's mother. "She died a few days ago."
"Can we know why?"
"Actually, I don't know." She said to the interviewer.
"Okay, changing subject, is it true that your ex boyfriend payed you because of an accident?"
"Yes it is."
Quinn was right. That happened. She was telling the truth all this time. I thought it was going to be a shitty story in which it wasn't true, but now I can see that she was right. How can I tell Quinn that she was right all this time?
"And Kelly, what are your hobbies?"
"Spending time with my daughters I guess."
"Okay thank you for this interview. Next on Good Morning LA we have a chef that will teach us how to cook a cake. Now to commercials."
I turned off the TV. I can't believe this. I can't tell Quinn that she was right all this time. What can I do to bring her back?
I went up to my room, light on some candles and made a nice gesture for Quinn to come back.
"Quinn, you were right all this time. I'm sorry that I never trusted you. You were telling the truth all time. Please come back to me, tell me the story of your life, tell me. I'm all ears for you, but please come back. I'm sorry for raising up my voice, I'm an asshole. Please Quinn. Please."
"I guess you're really sorry." She said behind my back.
"Hey! You came!" I tried to hug her but she took a step back.
"Of course, those words were nice."
"It all came from my heart."
"I can see that."
"Are you going to tell me another story?"
"Nope."
"Why?"
"Because the other story will be longer, and there's not a lot of time." She said.
"What do you mean Quinn?"
"I better get going." Said Quinn.
"Why? You just arrived."
"I don't know, I need to be somewhere, like right now."
"Okay."
"Phillip!" Screamed my mother.
"What?" I screamed back.
"I'm home."
"No shit." I said quietly. "Good!" I screamed.
I went downstairs again and saw my mother. She was with her same clothing as she was yesterday.
"Can you help me bring the groceries?"
"Sure."
I went to the car and get the groceries. My mom didn't helped, for she was working.
"Done." I said once I was ready.
"Good."
"Let me tell you something mom."
"What is it?"
"If it wasn't for you, I would be happy right now. With no punishments, going to school, and with a girlfriend that I love."
"What are you trying to say honey?"
"What I'm trying to say here mom is that you are the fault of Quinn's death. You killed her. You were why she died, and I hate you because of that."
"Sweetie, you love me. I'm your mother." She said gently.
"No! I'm sick of it. I would be with Quinn right now, on school. Yeah she was a sophomore but I loved her, now I can't have her back."
"You know it was for your best Phillip."
"Fuck that! I still hate you." I went upstairs leaving my mother alone.
