What the heck just happened?

I was left confused after Mark left the class.

All through the day I was worried about him. He wasn't in class or at lunch.

I even went by his locker. No sign of him anywhere.

It was at the end of the school day. Everyone was talking and doing their own thing.

Ring Ring

There's the bell. As I was getting my stuff together, someone bumped into me.

"Sorry about that ladd," a strong Irish accent said.

I turned around to come face to face with a boy with beautiful baby blue eyes and green hair.

I didn't know I was still staring at him until he said something.

"See something you like? Wait, don't tell me. Is it my eyes?"

"Uhh...I'm sorry for staring," I said blushing from embarrassment.

"Aww, that's alright there ladd. It happens all the time. Too much if you ask me."

He gave one of the most adorable soft laughs I ever heard.

"Umm....I'm Y/n. And you are?"

"oh, Sean but my friends call me-"

"Jack-o-boy!!!"

We both turned our head to see Sam and Matthew at the door.

"Samie-o! Matty! Yo laddies!"

Sam came over to Sean and gave him a bro hug, so did Matthew.

"So I see you finally met Y/n," Matthew said, putting a hand on Sean's shoulder.

"Oh! So this is the one y'all was telling me about?" Sean asked them.

They both nodded.

I was still processing what was going on. They never mentioned him to the me before.

"Why didn't y'all tell me about him before?"

"Oh, we did. You must've forgot. And Jack-o-boy here," Sam pause and started shaking Sean's shoulders, "would always tell us that he was too busy to meet you. But it seems like ya was in the same class and didn't even know it."

I just shook my head at them, smiling.

"Well as much as I love hanging around, I got to get home. So I'll see y'all tomorrow." Sean or I mean Jack said, walking out the door.

"Bye bro!" the twins said in unison.

Right after Jack left, Zoey came in the classroom.

"Guys! Why are y'all still here? The school is almost empty. And I got to get home"

She was right. It was only the three of us in the room. Not even the teacher was still here.

"Sorry baby. We got distracted talking to one of our friends." Matthew said, kissing her on her cheek.

I started walking ahead of them.

Once we made it out of the school, Zoey and I said bye to the twins and started walking home.

"So how was your day Y/n?"

"Umm...good I guess but I was to worried about Mark. I didn't see him at all for the rest of the day."

"Yeah, either did I"

Zoey looked like she was holding something back.

"What's wrong Zo?"

She looked me in the eyes and sighed. "Y/n....you know I love you, right? And I'm always honest with you, but...umm...Mark gives me a bad vibe and he's just so weird, mostly when it comes to you."

I'm confuse at what she was getting at. "What do you mean?"

"Mark is a weirdo. He has angry issues as you can see. He's all touchy with you. He acts so overprotective of you. Remember last month? He threatened to kill someone just cuz they looked at you flirtatiously. Don't you think any of that is strange?"

I had to think about it. All of what she said were right, but I think he's misunderstood.

"Come Zo, just give him a chance. For me?" I gave her my most convincing smile.

She looked like she was trying to fight something. Finally she rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Fine"

I gave her a cheesy smile and linked my arm to hers.

"Good! Let's get home."
