I passed a few police cars until I came across an open ambulance with an EMT checking out a girl. She had curly, dirty blonde hair with dark brown and green highlights. He skin was slightly tan, and she had a piercing on the left side of her lip. She was wearing a sleeveless black and white crop top with a black leather jacket, the sleeves pushed up. Her arms were covered with tattoos and she wore a red bandana on her wrist as a bracelet kinda thing I guess. She wore denim shorts- the pockets sticking out from the bottom of the pants, with black lace tights underneath, and tan combat boots. If you ask me, she looked pretty bad ass.
I walked up to the ambulance and she immediately noticed me, but a couple of the authorities stepped in front of me.
"Sorry, but no one's allowed-" one of the female authorities began with crossed arms.
"It's okay. She's with me." the girl getting checked out in the ambulance interrupted.
The female authority sighed before mumbling 'let her through' to the other authority and stepping to the side to let me through.
"I know you're with Drew and Nick. And yes, I am one of the people they're looking for here." she explained.
How'd she know?
She lifted up the bandana on her wrist for a tattoo was visible. It was the north, south, east, and west arrows coming out of a smaller circle, like a compass with the arrows extended out of it. There was some type of wording in the middle. It was in another language, and they were pretty small. There were things coming out of the words and compass that looked like branches. But the weird thing was, the branches looked like the were moving, curving just barely as it looked like a snake moving.
"It says 'Live to Fight and Fight to Live'. It means you can't feel pain out here. You'll be weak. And being the 'person' that I am, you can't be weak. You'll be dead. I'm Kris by the way." she introduces, pulling her bandana back down, covering her tattoo-mark- whatever the hell it is.
I returned my focus to her face as I noticed something on her neck.
"What's that? On your neck?" I ask slightly pointing to the darkened area on her neck.
What this?" she asks pulling down her shirt sleeve along with the leather jacket.
It revealed a tribal-styled tattoo that went from her neck and spread across her shoulder. From her shoulder, I could see a Yin Yang symbol wrapped in the tribal tattoo.
"All Bloodliners get it eventually. It allows us to draw our full power." she explained before readjusting her shirt and jacket back onto her shoulder.
"I don't thi-" I began.
"EMILY! C'MON!" a voice interrupted behind me.
It was Nick.
"C'mon. Let's go." I rushed, climbing off the ambulance and turning back to Kris to see if she was following.
She slid off the ambulance bed and stepped down onto the floor, beginning to make her way towards me.
"I never got you're name." she begins.
"Emily." I replied.
"Thanks." she answered back before taking off pass me, towards Drew's car.
I sighed, rolled my eyes, and ran behind her.
When we got there, Drew and Nick were leaning against the car talking in hushed voices. Kris stopped a few feet away from them, before putting her thumb and pointer finger in her mouth, and giving a loud whistle towards the two of them. They turned around; their eyes darted onto Kris as she walked up to them.
