As Keith walked into his empty apartment he carefully laid the guitar on the couch and walked to his room to find some good sheet music to practice. He found a song called drowning shadows by Sam smith. "Huh when did I get this?" He asked himself looking at the paper. He shrugged and walked back to the living room. He walked to the couch to pick up the guitar to find that it wasn't there. He looked around and found it propped against the wall next to the tv. He shrugged it off and picked it up. He started playing the song as a cool breeze surrounded him. He just played it off as it being an open window and continued singing the song when he heard a voice behind him, joining. "Go home to nothing or stay out for more?

Give in to someone or lock down my door?

Or drown all my shadows, drown them like before?

I'm drowning shadows once more." He sang with the voice, thinking his brother Shiro let himself in again. Once ending the song he turned around and it wasn't Shiro. There was a boy with brown hair, sun kissed tan skin, blue eyes and freckles. He was wearing a blue baseball tee with blue jeans. But it didn't seem like the boy was real though. He had a weird blue glowing outline. Keith stared at him wide eyed as the boy smiled at him. "I'm Lance." He said. Keith still stared at him, not saying a word. "And you are?" Lance asked. "Oh um ah- k-Keith." He stuttered. Lance nodded and walked towards him. Well more like floated towards him.

Keith backed away as the mysterious boy approached him. "I should probably explain. My name is Lance McLain and two years ago today was the last time I ever played that guitar, and my last day alive. I played the song that you just did before I you know- anyway I put the music there to see if you would sing it." Lance explained. "Wait so that was you who touched my shoulder earlier?" Keith finally asked. Lance nodded. "Clever ghost prank huh?" Keith rolled his eyes but laughed. "So you staying long? I mean you-" Keith asked. "Yeah I was gonna stay here a bit longer but if you want me to go-" Lance started fading. "No no no no! It's fine you can stay, your company is nice." Keith said quickly and lance reappeared. "Alright then, so what's on the agenda for today?" Lance floated around Keith. "I- I was gonna practice some songs, but if you want to do something else I'm fine with that." Keith said still a bit surprised by lance. "No I like hearing you play, reminds me of my little sister Lucille." Lance hummed. Keith blushed, embarrassed and grabbed the guitar. Lance got some music from his room with his poltergeist powers (cause why not?) and basically threw them at Keith. "What the quiznak Lance!" Keith said dodging the paper. "Sorry getting used to being dead and all." He laughed.  Keith picked up the paper and looked at the song. "Wow, Strings by Shawn Mendes haven't done this one in months!" Keith said propping up the sheet music.

-Lance-

After sitting on the couch -well attempting too- and listening to Keith play brought back memories of when Lance was still alive. After Keith finished a question popped into Lance's mind. "Hey do you know a guy named Coran?" He asked. " yeah, he owns a thrift store that I got your guitar from, and his ten year old niece Allura. Why?" Keith asked. "An old friend of mine." The brunette boy answered tapping his foot at an unknown beat. Keith nodded and started playing the beat on his gutair.

.................................

After what seemed like hours of Lance and Keith each asking each other questions. Keith was dead out tired. "Lance I'm going to bed." He yawned. Lance nodded as Keith got up and walked to his room to change. Lance waited but got bored and floated through the wall to Keith's room where he saw Keith pulling on a red teeshirt. Keith blushed as he realized Lance was there. "Do ghosts sleep?" He asked. Lance snapped out of his thoughts. "Well, we can if we want I mean most don't cause we usually go back to the ghost realm during the night but I'll stay." Lance floated to the bed and sat down. "Isn't there just heaven and hell? Didn't know there was a realm too." Keith said, also sitting on the bed.  "People with unfinished business go to the ghost realm." Lance shrugged. "Guess I do." He added.

Keith layed down and lance layed next to him, drifting to sleep.
