My entire life, I've lived in the same town. Born in a local hospital, raised in a quaint household, and stuck around with the same friends. Our population size was very tiny, and our little village was usually looked over since we were so close to Chicago. I lived in a village called Mount Prospect, where everyone knew everyone; as so I thought. I grew up being the only boy in my family of four, ever since my father died when I was seven. My mother raised my two younger sisters and I by herself. She's my hero, but like every teenager, I can't stand her at times.
I used to be the favored children, that is, till my younger sisters got into running. At that point, I was viewed as the least athletic one and pushed off to the side. My mother encouraged the girls to do their best and go for some scholarships, even though they were much too young to even be thinking about that kind of thing.
But since I was left on my own, I was able to experience something no junior high boy had ever actually experienced before: love.
