Once Catalina left to let them take care of Clarke, Damian realized the situation was more dire than they thought.
"I think we're in trouble darling. This looks like it could be more than just unruly teenagers causing havoc. This could mean the end of everything." Damian sighed, taking Kaitlin's hand in his own. He knew that everything they had built the clan into could fall apart just because someone had decided to start turning innocent people for no reason. Worse still, they were abandoning them to suffer their fate alone, with no guidance and no explanation. It wasn't right and he hoped it was cleared up soon.
"We'll do what we've always done and try to keep everyone focused on the goal. All we can do is make sure that Clarke learns all he can about our life and we teach him how to live in peace with humans and control his urges." Kaitlin reassured him. She hoped things would start working out for the best. It had taken them a long time to build the clan into what it now was. To think that could so easily be ruined was just unfair. Her only hope was that once this recent problem was fixed, things would go back to normal again.
A few minutes passed in thoughtful silence until Trey's daughter Rosalie appeared with Matisse. He took his seat with a nod to Damian that said everything had been taken care of on his end. He had made sure Clarke had fed and been sedated to make sure that he took the time to rest. His body would need time to adjust until his latest feed had time to sink into his body and build up his strength.
"Rosalie. Would you mind terribly taking care of Clarke and making sure that he gets something to eat and some rest? It will take him a while to adjust to his new life, but I'm sure with your guidance he'll soon feel welcome here." Kaitlin asked softly. Clarke would need to be watched over carefully, for signs of malnutrition or sickness, to make sure the turning had taken. He had a fortnight to hold out hope that it had been left incomplete. Until then, she and Damian were glad to see that Rosalie looked more than prepared for the challenge.
"Of course. Father said to tell you that a note has come through from the Island. Ellis made it safely across and he'll get in touch with you again soon." She relayed the message, not long after receiving it. With that done, she left to tend to her duties, unknowingly giving Kaitlin a moment of relief after the mornings events. It had been a long, hard morning, but the important thing was to get everyone through the current situation with as little loss of life as possible. With Edward's life hanging in the balance, even that couldn't be guaranteed.
