I woke up in the recovery room of the hospital, My stomach and throat burning and feeling a bit light headed. I looked up at the wall, which were all this angry shade of white. When I had fully woken up, I noticed the buds in my nose, obviously feeding me the air I so badly need. All of a sudden, I heard yelling in the hall. The voice sounded a lot like my Dyl so I got kind of worried.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN IT SPREAD TO HIS BRAIN!?!?!" Dyl yelled in a rage.
"Please, calm dow-"
"CALM DOWN!! My... Newt has cancer in his BRAIN!! HOW CAN I BE CALM?"
"Would you like to visit him?"
"YES!..... yes,"
"My pleasure.." The door was opened and Dyl walked in, tears flowing down his cheeks. He ran to the side of the bed and sucked up the tears, trying to be supportive.
"Hey Newt..."
"I heard-"
"I know... I guessed that. Did I wake you?"
"No, I woke up from pain, I guess,"
"How is your pain, Tom?"
"Thomas, please, and it's at about a 8 out of 10,"
"Okay, Thomas, do you have any aches in your head?"
"Yes, a few."
"Do you know why I asked you this?"
"You said something about brain cancer outside..."
"Yes... you have brain cancer, which is terminal."
"How long 'till I die?"
"If you do, about four months from now. Maybe less."
"Okay, should I write my will now or later?"
"You wont be-" Dylan added in but was interrupted by the nurse.
"Later, but not too much later." With that, she promptly left. Dylan looked on with sadness and I finally let the tears forced back out. Dyl walked over and started to cry as well, hugging me close enough that I could hear his heart beat pounding through his chest.
"Should I even try?" I whispered, barely audible.
