Standing in the most farthest corner of the room, where not even couples would make out. Ruby stood with her hoodie covering her face waiting impatiently with her taping foot. A little while my ass, Ruby thought. Her friends dragged her here with the promise of the God's gift of food. Disappointment FILLED every inch of her body when she spotted a measly plate of cheese and crackers.
Fuck my life...
"It was my friend's birthday party, I wasn't really comfortable... I don't like crowded places to be honest. But then I met him..."
"Hi..." Letting out a frustrated breath Ruby looked up to a Blonde Shady haired guy. "Look man, I'm not interested. I have plans of becoming a cat lady, leave me alone." He looked taken a back, well confused. "Oh no, I was just gonna tell you that if you'd like anything to eat. My friends are gonna get some food and well, I saw you glaring at the cheese plate." Ruby's eyes shined at the mention of food, this is what she came for. "Hell yeah!"
Dan saw how Ruby was smiling sadly. " I was hungry... And he honesty looked cute and stuff..."
Days turned into weeks. Weeks into months... Ruby snuggled against the tall sun beam while watching Netflix. "Hey, Ian..." He looked up down at her. "Yeah?"
"Do... Do you love me?"
"I don't know what the hell crossed my mind that day. I was... Well still am self conscious. He was popular and cute, not to mention a shit ton of girls were after him- I felt suffucated... What's worse is that I never let go of something!" Dan's brow arched. " What do you mean?" A new wave of sadness hit Ruby, anyone from the cafe could tell she was defending her waterworks with might. Her breathing was ragged and shallow.
"I never told him! I-I was still self conscious because he used to like my best friend! He really liked her, because after that party he would rush to her side to talk to her! And- And, I could obviously tell he loved her by the twinkle in his eye!!!" Dan rose from his seat quickly to Ruby's side. Engulfing her in warmth once again.
" I don't know what happened... They stopped talking. Alena said that Ian was obnoxious! And just ill things about him when I told her I liked him... Id still hang out with him and eventually we started dating but me and Alena drifted apart, she wouldnt speak to me, she was just... There. She seemed different!"
Ruby took a pause, she collected herself and wiped the tears she thought she couldn't produce anymore.
" Ian acted weird as well... Whenever I would bump into Alena and say hi he would walk away somewhere, you could literally feel the awkwardness and tension between them. I know I shouldve addressed it with him but I wanted to ignore it. Wish it wasn't there. It was bad to a point where he yanked his hand away from mine when he saw Alena walking towards us! I hated it! Hated it! Hated it!
...
I KNEW HE STILL HAD FEELINGS FOR HER! I WALKED IN AT THEM ONE TIME VERY SNUGGLED THE FUCK UP! And... For the love I had for Ian... I choose to forget and forgive. I Loved him... So. much! That I forgave him...
At least he's happy with her now."
