Life of running

Chapter two

We leave without paying.It feels weird,usually I ransack houses not shop lift in a world where there is no shop lifting, just surviving.

We go straight to the house without any hesitation.I go straight into the room I slept in and look out at the city,it's so pretty with all the lights that lights the city up.

Who knew a city with so much destruction can look that good.I walk down the hallway and down the stairs to see Dallas looking at a picture."Was this your house" I say.

"Yes" he says kind of sad like. "Oh sorry"."why".

"because I can tell you lost someone" I say."Ya,my mom died and I only have my sister left,she's out gathering food.you can meet her when she comes back.She's supposed to come back in about a day"Dallas says.

"What's her name" I ask."Lucinda ,she is just like you and maybe can teach you how to shoot a gun and throw a knife,because it's clear you don't know how to "he says with a smile.I smile back and say,"hey,thats rude".And I did it I smiled,it was just today I wouldn't let myself smile."sorry it's true though she can teach you how to"Dallas says

Hours pass of me looking out at the city and then I hear the front door open.A tall girl,slumped against the wall with dark hair and a streak of blonde closes the door.

" Your back back already" Dallas ask

"ya the"girl says and I assume it's Lucinda.

"Lucinda this is Bree,Bree this is Lucinda "She extends her hand out for me to shake an says,"nice to meet you".

"Nice to meet you to"I say properly."but you can call me cin.

"I was thinking you could teach her how to shoot a gun and throw a knife"Dallas says.

"ya" Lucinda says"tomorrow tho". "

"Ok"I say.I go straight to my room and fall asleep.when I do my hand hits the floor and I hear Lucinda teasing Dallas.

"Morning" Dallas and Lucinda say at the same time.

"you sound like one of those twins who say everything at the same time"I say."well are you ready for a lesson on how to use a knife as a weapon,today"? she says.

"ya"I say in monotone.

"Come on I already have a target set up" Lucinda says.

"okay"I say as I run behind her to catch up with her.she leads me through a door and says,"here we are,grab a knife, be careful tho"Lucinda says.

"No,I'm going to stab myself "I say

"fine mr.grumpy pants, just remember I told you so"

"Watch me "she throws the knife and it hits right under the big red circle.with out being told I throw the knife and it hits the target.

"What,you thought I couldn't use a knife "I say ."actually,yes."She replies

"Let's try a gun" she picks up a gun and hands it to me."try It "she says.I pick up the gun and shoot the knife in the middle .It splits in half.

"Dang, I can't even do that"she says"actually I can but,dang".

We walk inside and Lucinda says to Dallas "So how was it "Dallas.

"she knows how to use a gun and a knife"Lucinda says.

Dallas laughs."what"I demand.

"nothing ,just you know how to use a gun"he says still laughing.

"yes what is so funny about it".

"nothing just you, a skinny little girl who is sixteen knows how to use a gun"he says.

"your one years older and she is better than you still,now that's funny"Lucinda says.Dallas stops laughing and say,"not true".

We all have a picnic and I fell like cin is watching me.I eat my sandwich quick to try to escape the awkwardness and say done when I finish.

"already" he say

"Ya I was starving"I lied.

"Me and cin are leaving today,are you coming"? he says with a bit of curiosity in his voice.

Do I really want to go and leave this place?After all I only stayed with them, not because I love them,but because I needed a place to stay.
