We arrive at the front of my house a few minutes later. I grab my keys from my pocket as he says "See ya. " He waves and I return the favor. As he walks away, I open the front door and run up the stairs to my apartment.
The rest of the day flies by uneventfully, and I get ready for school, anxiously awaiting the day that's soon to come.
I hope there won't be anymore fights today. I've caused enough to last a lifetime. Grabbing my phone and keys, I walk down the stairs and out the door. Look at the bright side, I think to myself, maybe today will be a good day after all.As I near the school, I hear a ruckus. Please don't be what I think it is. "Why are you standing up for a freak like her?!? "I hear someone yell. Please don't lose your temper. Please don't lose your temper. "She is not a freak! " I hear him yell back. Don't throw a punch, don't throw a punch. This is my battle, not yours. Please, just understand that. The sound that follows says it all.
