Walking into my new school, don't worry you're not the only person thinking what a cliché. It is 100%, but there's a part of me that's happy with the new start. My childhood home came with memories of the friends I've lost, embarrassing learning experiences, exes gone wrong. Now, no one knows my name, my story, me. I am fresh, with the knowledge from my past life.
My brother Jared on the other hand, not going to have as easy of a transition, he had the perfect life. Good grades, friends, parties, girls flocking all over him. So he's a bit more butthurt over this then I am.
The first thing I notice are the marble floors with the schools mascot painted onto it. Some sort of bird, not a pigeon, definitley not an eagle, hmm... I should brush up on my bird education, whatever it's got wings. I walk past it only to find classrooms and blue lockers masking the cream walls. Where the fuck is the deans office? I'm looking around, like a lost puppy.
"Do you need help?" I hear a feminine sweet voice directed at me from over my left shoulder. Only to find a girl who's slightly taller then me. Standing at about 5'5" with dyed red hair, make up better than the average person.
"I need to find the deans office" I giggle slightly afterwards out of embarrassment. She smiles at me.
"Right down the hall on your left" she leans on the lockers, holding her Michael Kors bag, and books for her economics class. "I take it your new"
"Yea, im Lexi" I give a smile. "Thanks for the help" I begin to walk away. I hear footsteps prance beside me.
"Wait Lexi!" I look over to find her walking beside me. "I'm Savannah" she pulls out her phone "add your Snapchat it's always nice to have atleast one familiar face around this place" I smile at her kindness and give her my Snapchat.
"Thank you, I'll see you around" Savannah places her hand on my shoulder and wishes me luck as she walks away. Maybe this won't be so bad.
Standing in front of the deans office I walk through the tall brown wooden door and hear it slam behind me, I find a big desk with cushioned chairs and sit down in one, The Middle Aged man with a receding hair line sits down and organizes his desk before he says, "You must me Alexia" his clammy hand shakes my cold one.
"You're correct" I sit back in my chair, bored.
"Welcome to The home of the Falcons" Okay first lesson of the day, The bird is a Falcon, I should've known. "Here's the code of conduct, a list of clubs you could join to become involved, to become familiar with your peers, and your schedule" he hands me papers, I review over my classes.
"I already took calculus last year" I state as I noticed the most hell ridden class of my existence typed out on paper. As my first class of the day! I can't do calculus every single morning. I might just vomit.
"You failed that class Ms. Evins" I sit up and huff before I explain.
"I only failed the final" I pause. "Wouldn't I just have to retake the final?" As I remember the terrible late nights studying for that class, I figure out any other possible options I have to never go through that hell again.
"It's required for every student who attends this academic facility to have passed calculus fully, that includes the final Ms. Evins. Now before we continue on with our day, do you have any other questions involving your schedule?"
"No I suppose I don't" I stand up out of the chair. I guess I have to fucking head to...
"Have a great time in Calculus Ms. Evins, as you exit, your class will be down the hall on your left" as he flashes a smile in my direction. I laugh in disbelief and head to calculus. I walk in the door, the teacher stops teaching and looks at me as a bunch of eyes land on me. The teacher is an older woman. Her grey hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, a black skirt that went down to her ankles, thick, black framed glasses resting on her nose.
I hand my schedule to my teacher. "I'm Alexia Evins, new to the school" I look around the classroom as the teacher shakes my hand. Her raspy, smokers voice, "Alexia, what a beautiful name! Welcome to Calculus. I'm Mrs. Greenberg" she smiles and addresses the class. "Everyone let's welcome Alexia" The class unenthusiastically says hello. I smile. "Hey nice to meet everyone" I giggle. You'll notice I giggle a lot out of embarrassment or when I'm nervous. As I walk to find a seat the group of boys who come off to be popular are looking at me whispering and laughing. I ignore the anxiety I feel by placing my little back pack down. I take a new notebook opening it to the first page. I push my long dirty blonde hair with blonde highlights behind my ear. I let my green eyes trail around the room, to get a feel for the people around me. That's just when I locked eyes on the only reason I'll ever want to be going to the class. The tan skinned boy, dark brown hair. I made eye contact with his beautiful hazel eyes and I smirked then realized how creepy I probably looked and turned back around and actually payed attention to the rest of the class.
The bell rang. "Class is dismissed ladies and gentlemen! Get out of here!!" Mrs. Greenberg joked and smiled as she kicked us all out. She doesn't seem terrible.
I couldn't stop thinking of that guy. I put my book in my bag, swinging my bag over my shoulder I begin to walk around the desk to head out and I hear my name. Out of reflex I turn around. "Yes?"
One of the boys from the popular group. "New to the falcons huh?" I smile and meet his brown eyes and messy blonde locks.
"Yes I am" I smile.
"Well welcome to te home of the falcons, I'm Dylan" he flashes a million dollar smile and I can't help but flash one back in return.
"Well it's nice to meet you Ethan" I respond. He snatched my paper from my hand.
"Let me check if we have any other classes" he wouldn't be the worst person to share more then one class with.
"Do we have any?" I questioned. He looks me in the eyes.
"I guess you'll have to find out" he smirks and runs away.
"Ethan! I need my schedule" I laugh and chase him down the hallway. As I pull his backpack back he turns around and grabs my waist and comes close to me. Oh he's a flirt. He looks me in the eyes and says. "Maybe you'll see me later" and hands me my paper walking in the opposite direction. I'm left alone, blushing in the middle of this hallway. If this is how the first hour of my day has been. I think I'm bound for quite the journey here in the home of the Falcons.
