It had been a few hours since we all had dinner. We watched a film but I decided to depart as soon as it finished so I could sit in silence for the rest of the evening.
It wasn't anything personal against them, I'm just the type of person who needs their alone time at the end of every day to recharge from all the social interaction.
It wasn't a natural daily activity for me to be talking with and around people every day, so when I was on trips with the guys, I always needed to be alone in the evening and not share a room with anyone, just so I could gather myself again.
I'd been lying in my bed under the covers for about an hour or so, reading on my phone when I heard three faint knocks at my door.
I sighed, hoping they'd think I was asleep and leave.
They knocked again.
"Goddamn it" I muttered under my breath.
I threw my duvet back and stalked over to the door, gripping the handle and pulling it open a few inches.
My eyes landed on his messy dark brown hair, clearly un-brushed and probably washed too.
He lifted his head so our eyes could meet and I suddenly felt a small wave of sympathy.
I blinked and shook my head slightly, ridding my mind of the small emotion I briefly felt towards him.
His eyes looked slightly red, not from crying, but maybe stress or lack of sleep.
"Hey man, please don't punch me in the face for asking this or anything but...could I sleep in here tonight? I'll just curl up on the floor in the corner or something, I have blankets n shit"
My eyes flickered down to his lips as he spoke, then swiftly back up to his eyes.
Naturally I wanted to punch him for even thinking I'd let him share a room with me, even if he slept in the dressing table drawer, but something stopped me from balling my hands into fists.
"Fuck off" I decided to settle on a more polite response.
"Please man, I already asked Speedy but there's no space in his room and I know Jahova will actually punch me if I ask him" Sidearms pleaded.
I sighed, "Why?"
"Well G18 took the couch, D20 took the armchair so me and Deluxe are on the floor in the living room, but he kicks in his sleep and moves around a lot and he wont stop kicking me and I can't get to sleep"
I sighed again, "That's not my problem"
"I know, but you have the bigger room so I thought maybe I could just sleep on the floor just for tonight" He continued, sounding rather desperate.
I paused for a few seconds, contemplating what to say next.
"You don't speak to me for two weeks, then wake me up in the middle of the night asking to share my bedroom?" Granted we weren't the closest of friends but when you have a small group of friends you talk to every day, it is obvious when one ignores you for a length of time.
He looked down at the floor, shuffling his feet, not seeming like he wanted to respond.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't wanna annoy you too much I guess, I thought I'd give you some space or whatever" He mumbled, his eyes still locked on the carpet.
I raised an eyebrow, "Really? Never since I met you have you decided to give me some space" I admitted.
"I know but, I don't know, I just thought it was best"
