Who would haw thought shopping for a baby, with a baby would be so hard.Monica and James looked pretty odd carrying around a (naked) baby wrapped in a cover. Not only were they getting stares because they looked like they were having a hard time but because that baby looked nothing like them.
"Monica I bet it looks like we stole someone's naked baby!!" James whispered under his breath as smiled at the old lady giving him the nasty eye while reaching for a pack of laxatives.
"Of course it does, that baby is obviously not ours. And ninety-nine of the people here are white country people who've never seen any other color person being taken care of by a white person." Monica said nonchalantly while walking towards a store clerk to ask when the storm was supposed to start and end.
"Well shit. That long?" Monica whispered under her breath while trying to figure out how many cans of formula they would need to last a baby 2 weeks stuck inside.
Monica took the buggy from James and began to push down the baby aisle as she picked up the cheapest version of everything that the store had to offer.
"Diapers.....2boxes. Formula....a lot?" Even though Monica worked at a daycare she never had to do the shopping.
Other than occasionally wiping a kid's butt and making formula Monica had zero idea of what to buy for the baby.
"I think that's it... For the baby."
Monica said to no one in particular .
"Maybe some clothes...." James said to Monica as he pulled the wiggly baby's foot from inside the flaps of his button up shirt.
"We should name her, 'the baby' isn't very original." Monica said as she picked up some baby onesies a size to big for the baby. She'll find that out later. She grabbed a pacifier and decided it was finally time to maybe buy some food for them to eat."Look Monica the fruit and veggies aisle has Ashbourne winter squash."
"Ashbourne.... I like it."
James looked over at Monica as she picked up some onions as threw them in the buggy.
"Her name?? Ashbourne?"
"Yes, James. I didn't realize you took this long to process things."
Monica mumbled under her breath as she started putting the food on the little "food escalator" as She likes to call it.
"Your Total will be $237.63"
"Dammit, babies are expensive."---
A/N this was more of a filler chapter than anything. I really wanted to put something out there for that one reader.
