He looks into my eyes and I feel the familiar warmth spread through my body. Call it cliche, but I really do feel happier when he's around me.
"Mia! Mia! I'm here." My eyes snap away from my mate as quick as lightning and landed on my beautiful best friend. Isla has light blonde hair that cascades down to her slim waist in perfect curls. Her shaped cheekbones tighten as her usual wide smile takes over most of her flawless face. From years of running, her body is toned and looks like the kind that all the boys would chase after, the kind that they do check out frequently.
I always wonder why I'm best friends with such a gorgeous model, it does wonders to my insecurities. However, I couldn't not be friends with Isla even if I tried. Her bubbly and friendly personality means a lot more to me then some glances from boys. Anyway, I have a mate that loves my body the way it is.
Without meaning to, I look over to Alex and, straight away, my smile reappears as I find he's still gazing at me intently and not looking at my best friend.
"Mia! What are you looking at? Oh, that's the new boy. Rumour is that he killed a boy at his old school and that's why he get expelled. He's very hot though."
As soon as I hear her talking about him in that way, my wolf tries to take over but I push her back. Instead of attacking my life long friend that I love, I just let out a deep growl. I know Alex has heard our conversation as his familiar, deep chuckle can be heard by everyone. Every single person's eyes were on him; girls were either checking him out or looking at the floor in fear and most of the guys were looking on in admiration. It took all I could to not rip the heads off of the fake bimbos that held obvious lust in their eyes. Alternatively, I stiffly turn my tense body towards the entrance of the school and walk forwards with my head held high.
When I reach my destination, my ears picked up on approaching footsteps. Please be him. Please be him.
"Mia! Did I do something? Why are you ignoring me?"
Dammit, it's Isla. I put on a fake smile and turn on my feet, trying to act indifferent. "Of course not! Sorry Isla, I'm just not in a very good mood today."
"Period?"
"Nope. Just got up too early." I smoothly lie.
"Oh okay. Did you know the new guy?" What! How did she know? Be smooth. Be normal.
"No, why?"
"Well he was staring at you the whole time and didn't even glance at any other girl. Also, when I said he was hot you growled at me. You've never seriously growled at me before."
He didn't look at another girl? I can actually feel my insides increasing in temperature. Thank goddess!
"I don't know why he was looking at me and I definitely didn't growl at you. I'm not an animal... well I'm not fully animal." I stutter a little bit.
"Whatever you say." Isla winks at me and I know that she won't let it go.
Whilst we were bickering, we were walking towards our first class a well. Maths. Yay! An hour hour of listening to a delightfully interesting teacher teach us how to form equations and things that we'll use all teh time in life. Note the sarcasm.
I go to sit at my seat but instead, one of the fake bimbos from earlier was sitting there with my mate next to her. She's rambling on about some party or something whilst a frowning Alex just looks at his phone and furiously texts on it.
Before I can get fake bimbo out of my seat, I feel my phone vibrate and obviously I reach for it.
To Mia:
Help me! This girl is talking to me when the only girl I want to talk to is you. Come save me from this hell xx
From Alexander
That makes me double over in laughter and when I begin to laugh, I full on laugh and can't stop. I easily catch Alex's attention and he looks over at me in amusement. I only notice now his appearance as earlier I was too busy staring into his emerald eyes. His dishevelled brown hair looks unkempt as usual and only I know that he didn't even touch his hair this morning. Everyone else would believe that he spent hours in front of the mirror to achieve that perfection. His toned muscles are tensed under his black v-neck and I can see the outline of his abs. Every time I see his attractive body, I swoon as if it was the first time.
The downside to having such a stunning mate, are the she-wolves. Our school and most nearby schools are occupied by wolves and no humans. In fact, we rarely have any humans living near us as most seem to find it really boring or they didn't like the constant howling that woke them up in the middle of the night. I can't deny that we do in fact do that on purpose.
I am brought out of my thinking when the fake bimbo glares at me through her fake eyelashes. How can she even see anything through them?
"What are you doing here Mia?" The fake bimbo isn't in my pack so she doesn't have to respect me, but she should anyway. I am the daughter of an Alpha.
"You're sitting in my seat." I cross my arms over my chest, directing a few glances to my top, or more specifically my breasts. The fake bimbo's eyes immediately widens and she scrambles out of my seat. Everyone knows not to mess with my pack and most of her classmates are glaring at her for disrespecting me.
To be honest, I was quite disappointed that she didn't stand her ground. My wolf and I want to hurt her, to dig our claws into her make-up caked rough skin and make her look ugly. Nevertheless, I know my dad would kill me if that happened, not that I won't carry out my wishes if she disrespects me again.
I sigh as I sit in my seat. Today's going to be a long day.
