~Hermione's Pov:~
A week had past since Ron had stabbed me, but recently things have been kind of weird. While, Pansy and Ron got off the hook, Draco seemed to withdraw completely from everyone. I guess its because I had seen him break down so many times these past couple of days that he found himself embarrassed but as we sat through a marriage lesson, Draco had yet to utter anything. "Hey, what's wrong you seem quiet lately?" I spoke, as the others did there own things. He looked at me, and I saw no emotions in his grey eyes. "Nothing is wrong." He spoke as he went back to staring at the table. "Draco, is this about the last couple of days?" I spoke, lowering my voice a little. I saw him sigh before he hesitated on his words. "Its my mother's funeral tomorrow but I don't want to go alone." He rushed out, sounding like an innocent child. Slowly I grabbed his hand and squeezed. "I'll go with you if you want me too." He looked at me, and smiled. "Thank you." I smiled too and slowly he wrapped me in his arms. I smiled and slowly the class fell silent.
With Draco drawing patterns on my skin, it was hard not fall asleep at how relaxed I felt, so I was thankful when the bell signalled the end of lessons. Slowly Draco wrapped an arm around my waist, and I leant my head on his shoulder, as we walked to the great hall. Slowly we went our separate ways and when I sat down, Harry, Ginny and Pavarti questioned me on our relationship. "We're just friends, that's all." I spoke, closing the questions.
Dinner passed quickly after that and when I reached the common room, we changed and laid besides each other. Slowly I drew patterns on his chest, and he shivered. I smiled and he just pulled me closer before we both decided to call it a night.
By the next morning I awoke to Draco shaking me. "You might want to get ready." I nodded and grabbed my clothes before I entered the bathroom, and changed.
Once we were done we walked to Dumbledore, before he gave us permission to appartate away, thankfully no one was there. The funeral was love and I never judged Draco for crying, but what shocked me was Lucius was there, still chained up, but nevertheless he was there. He stared at me and as I looked Draco I wrapped in my arms, whispering in his ear. "Death leaves heartache, no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." He looked at me, and kissed my forehead. The rain came down heavily and Draco opened an umbrella and pulled me closer.
We listened to the words of the vicar and as Draco cried silently he whispered my words. I pulled him closer and when the service was over, we waited for everyone to leave, but as Draco's father came forwards he tensed. "I'm sorry Draco." Draco snorted and I looked at him entwining my fingers with his. "Miss Granger, thank you." I looked at him in suspicion. "What for?" He smiled a forced smile. "For being there." I nodded still not convinced and the ministry dragged him away.
The rain came down heavily and Draco slowly placed her favorite flower down. "I love you mum, your the best anyone could ask for..." He smiled weakly. "I'll make you proud I promise." I smiled and placed a rose down. "I'll look after him, you have my word." I spoke before I stood up and turned to him. He wrapped me in his arms and placed his lips to mine. We kissed gently but when he drew away he smiled weakly. "Thank you for coming." I nodded and slowly he grabbed my hand and sent a patronus to Dumbledore.
A white wisp came and a beautiful dragon danced around before it delivered Draco's message a second later a phoenix came, "you can apparate into the great hall." Draco smiled weakly and looked at me, I nodded and then we apparated into the great hall.
When the world had stopped spinning I looked at Dumbledore who nodded and placed the wards up. I turned to him and he thanked me one more time before he kissed my forehead and walked to the slytherin table. I watched as he sat down before I went to the Gryffindor table and slowly dug in. "It was your mother's funeral why didn't you tell me?!" Draco clenched his jaw. "Because I asked Hermione to come with and I was thankful she did!" The hall fell silent and Draco looked down his whole body tense.
I stood up walking to him and sat down besides him, wrapping me in his arms. "I'm not trying to still your best friend, besides I asked if he wanted me there and he said yes." Theo and Blaise nodded wrapping us two in a hug. "Sorry Draco." He nodded and I looked at my friends, who glared at me, minus Pavarti and Luna. I smiled at them and they nodded before lunch slowly came to an end. "What would you like to do?" He smiled. "Can we go to our common room?" I nodded and slowly we slipped out.
When we got there we laid down and I grabbed a book, reading until dinner time.
DRACO: "If I profane with my unworthiest hand
This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this:
My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand
To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss."
HERMIONE: "Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,
Which mannerly devotion shows in this;
For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss."
DRACO: "Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?"
HERMIONE: "Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer."
DRACO: "O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do;
They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair."
HERMIONE: "Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake."
DRACO: "Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take.
Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged."
HERMIONE: "Then have my lips the sin that they have took."
DRACO: "Sin from thy lips? O trespass sweetly urged!
Give me my sin again."
HERMIONE: "You kiss by the book."
