Heaving sobs.

That's what Ryker heard when he answered his phone at 1:28 am.

"Ryker." Reverie's voice was scratchy, she'd been crying for an hour before she called Ryker.

"Reverie?" He was immediately up, and alert.

"Ryker...I need you to...come help...me..."

"Come and help you? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just need you, Ryker."

He was on his feet before she could even finish her sentence. He walked around his room quietly, sliding gracefully into some black jeans and a dark purple tee shirt. He held the phone to his ear as he slid on some black shoes.

"Rev, where are you?" He grabbed his car keys, and an extra jacket.

"29th and Park."

He stopped before he left his room. "At night, Rev? What's wrong?"

"I can't talk, Ryker. My phone's about to die."

"Why?"

She only sighs. "This is my 56th time trying to call you. I'll send you my location."

"Reverie."

"I'll be right here, Ryker."

She hangs up. His phone buzzes.

Revi Lux has shared her location with you!

It took everything in Reverie not to break down crying again. She had pulled herself together when she hear Ryker's voice.

She didn't want to talk about what happened until she knew she was safe. And where better to be safe than with the boy she's loved for years?

She had somehow limped to Walmart to buy a tee shirt that covered her body. But that didn't help the fact that she was freezing cold. She finally ran out of energy on 29th and park, so she stopped and began to cry. By the time Ryker answered the phone, she was hysterical.

That was 5 minutes ago.

She's losing it. Reverie is so overwhelmed, so when she sees headlights, she's sure she's hallucinating! There's no way Ryker could be here that fast. She's downtown, and he lives on the outskirts.

That's at least a 15 minute drive!

But sure enough, Ryker parks the car, running towards her. She has her arms wrapped around her shaking body.

When Ryker sees her, a shaky breath leaves him. "R-Reverie. Wh-What happened to you?"

"A man." She says, her voice cracking. "A man happened, and a man thought that he had a right to me, and he...he touched me, Ryker."

Ryker starts to fill with anger, but he controls himself. Reverie needs him calm right now. He walks over to her, lifting her up gently. She clutches to him, holding his neck and smelling his shirt.

"I'm here, Rev." He says in her ear quietly.

He walks her back to the car, setting her in the passenger seat. He gave her the jacket he brought and tears sprung to her eyes.

"You...you brought me a jacket?"

He nods. "Figured you be cold."

She looks at him. He starts the car up, not looking at her. "You're mad." She states. It isn't a question; it's quite obvious he fuming.

"Not right now, I'm not. Later, when you're asleep, yes, I will be." He looks back at her. "But right now, I'm Ryker. And I'm here. For you."

Tears overflow, and he wipes them from her face. She laughs when he kisses her forehead. She hugs him across the arm rest. His shoulders slump in defeat as he hugs her back. He can see her ripped up dress under the tee shirt.
