Chapter 1: The Nerve

Marco Diaz is nothing but ordinary. Has a Mom and Dad, he's a high school student, gets straight A's, unpopular, boring, there's nothing really exciting about him at all. He's got plain short brown hair and milky arms, what could be more basic than that? Marco stared at himself in the bathroom mirror before heading out to school "Alright Marco today is the day" he whispered to himself "Today's the day your gonna talk to Jackie Lynn Thomas". *Sigh* "Oh who am I kidding, I can't even look her in the eyes yet". He got frustrated and pounded his fist on the counter. *Ring* Marco's best friend Oscar Greyson was calling, "Hello"? "Hey dude your gonna be at the pep rally later right"? Oskar asked through the phone "Um... yeah why"? Oskar just laughed "Ooh you wait and see what I got planned this afternoon"! "What do you mean by planned"? "It's a dare, the watchers pay to dare me, dude I thought I already explained this". "Right you and your dumb games" Marco talked back "it's not dumb, ooh Nerve, it's starting"! "Sigh you have fun now" Marco said sarcastically "Oh trust me I will, hey I'll send you a link so you can watch me" . "Alright, alright bye" Marco hanged up and checked his email revealing an anonymous link. *Click* He watched the video

"What is this dumb crap"? Marco asked himself, He shut his laptop and headed out to school.

Later at the pep rally....
"Good afternoon students"! The principal said through the mic. "Today I would like to talk about the new school year and some events coming up, but for now let's have some fun" he shouted. "Give it up for Brittney and the Echo Creek cheerleaders"! "Move losers"! Brittney pushed herself to the front and started to cheer. "Looks like their booty shaking more than cheering" Marco said sarcastically. His buddy Ferguson just stared "Oh yes they are" "Mhm whatever I'm gonna go get some snacks from the condescension stand out in the hall", Marco left. "Hey are you ready"? Justin asked Oscar in the corner of the auditorium. "Yep" he handed Justin his phone and started to record live "Hey watchers, I'm about to do what you've been asking for"! He added a thumbs up. Oscar left and came back to the middle of the gym floor with two large carts of food stolen from the cafeteria. He started throwing it at the students "FOOD FIGHT"! He yelled and other students started to throw food at each other. Janna ran over to Justin to watch the recording, they both snickered. Marco walked back into the once clean auditorium to students screaming and throwing food at each other. "What the"? He then looked over to a corner where Janna and Justin held Oscars phone. He ran over to them "What in the hell is going on here"? He yelled at them, but Justin just laughed and held up the screen

"AHHH MY HAIR"! Brittney screamed and wined. "Enough, ENOUGH I SAID"! Everyone froze by the principals sudden shout, "OSCAR GREYSON YOU LITTLE-"

*later* "Oscar you got suspended"! Marco freaked. Janna, Justin, Oscar, Marco, and Ferguson all shared a table at frozen yogurt. "I know, it's awesome" He laughed back, "How is this awesome, this is terrible what were you thinking"? Oscar rolled his eyes. "Sigh come on safe kid, the food fight was nothing some people risk dying for this game, you just need to live a little" Justin spoke up. Marco rolled his eyes "don't call me that, I'm not a safe kid". "Your a safe kid" they all said at once, Marco hit Ferguson's arm as he groaned. They laughed until someone in particular walked through the door. *Gasp* "Ooh Jackie Lynn Thomas" Ferguson teased Marco "Go talk to her" Oscar said "What, I can't"! Marco whispered "Come on" the four pushed at him "No". "For the love of God Marco take a risk, you know what I'll go talk to her" Oscar got up "Wait, stop"! He approached Jackie and stood next to her "Oh hey Oscar" Jackie blushed "Cool uh... food fight earlier". "Yeah thanks, hey um I was wondering if you had a boyfriend" "are you asking me out"? Jackie gasped "wait, I-" Jackie kissed his cheek. As Marco watched from a distance he looked like he was about to cry "wait what's happening"? Janna asked. "I'd like that you know" Jackie smiled. Oscar then put his hands on her waist and pulled her closer, he leaned in and kissed her right on the lips. Marco felt sick as he watched them make out right in front of him. "Oh that's just messed up" Ferguson was done with his crap. "I gotta go" Marco said than ran out of the place. "Call me okay"? Jackie waved Oscar goodbye, he soon regretted what he just did. "Where's Marco"? He asked "Seriously"? Justin said

Marco ran home and slammed his door "Ugh, I HATE MY LIFE" He yelled. He heard a ding come from his laptop "Freaking Nerve" he muttered under his breath. *click* The words Welcome To Nerve flashed across his screen "You chose player" the computer spoke, here's where it gets real.

Ahhhh that's it! I hope you guys liked the first chapter! I wanted Oscar to be Marco's best friend because he's already the popular, dare devil if you know what I mean,Anyway I know so far it's kinda cheesy but I promise I'll make this story good, but only if you support me on this👍🏼 I'll add Star in later (and for those who have seen the movie know where I'm going with this) Also I don't want my story to be to much like the movie, I'm trying to stay as original as possible so it doesn't look like I'm stealing ideas, I just didn't know how to start my story.
