I wake up to my annoying ring tone. I groan in annoyance and pull my phone off the coffee table. It's an unknown number. Confused, I answer it. "Hello?" I ask with sleep in my voice.
"Eve?" I hear a well known voice ask, almost panicked. My eyes widen and I wake up in an instant.
"Damon?! How did you get this number?" I ask, slightly angered.
"Eve, I dont know what's going on, but you're in danger. You need to get out of New Orleans, come back to Mystic Falls." He says in a worried, panicked voice. I roll my eyes at him. It's a trick to get me back to Mystic Falls.
"Damon, I'm not coming back. I'm making a new home here. Don't call me again." I quickly pull the phone away from my ear and end the call. I scoff at him. I stand up and decide to change out of these clothes. I walk into my room and go straight to my closet. I pull out a short red dress and a leather jacket. I pull my old close off and throw them in a hamper. I slide the dress on, adding some 1 inch boot heels. I pull the jacket on and I was ready.
I looked at the time, seeing it was only 6:30pm. I decided to get some dinner.I walked down the stairs, out of my apartment. I was wandering the busy rode of Bourbon Street, I walked alone but I didn't feel like it. I could feel a pair of confused and causation eyes following my every step, it was a familiar stare I felt earlier. I pushed my hands in my back pockets as I continued to roam like nothing was wrong.
In a flash, I'm taken to a dark empty street. My back hits the hard brick with a thud. I groan, as my eyes shut from impact.
"Who are you?!" I hear my attacker question. My usual forest eyes turn to amethyst purple with anger as I open them, immediately barring my fangs at the man. He looked familiar, yet I couldn't put my finger on where I had seen him, he sure was hot though. "Who are you?!" the man repeated. With an angry push, he's knocked off his feet and almost on the other side of the street.
"Eve." I state with authority. Before using my inhuman speed back to my new apartment, I see him bare fangs just like mine. I'm not the only vampire here... I reach my apartment and stop, I rest my body on the wall and take a breather. I was stressed and it was making me hungry. I decide to still go find some dinner. I continue walking down Bourbon Street while my defence high up. While I pass an empty street, i hear someone call my name.
"Hey Eve! Is that you?!" I turn quickly and see Ralph. My eyes widen. Shit. I play it off with a smile.
"H-Hey Ralph, uhm I can't talk right now.." I say quickly. His face turns to worry and he lays a hand on my shoulder.
"You okay? You dont look so good." He says, concerned. I bite back my tongue. I was hungry and I was getting angry.
"I-I'm fine, I just really need to g-go." I say quickly again, looking down and going to turn.
"Wait, are you su-" He grabs my arm and pulls me back, only for me to push him off harshly. He flies back on the ground and let's out an 'ow'. My eyes widen again in realization.
"Ralph, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to-" I stop, sniffing the air. Blood. "A-.. Are you bleeding?" I ask lowly. I could feel the veils pop from my eyes slowly as my eye color slowly chances from green to purple. He doesn't look at me but sits up, looking at his arm. There's a good sized scratch that was oozing blood. I tried to calm myself down, but nothing was working. Blood lust was filling me. He looked up at me and was shocked with what he saw.
"E-Eve, what's wrong with your face?" He asks, fear in his voice. I reach up and feel the veils under my eyes. I quickly grab him and pull him into the back rodes, running to my apartment. I stop in front of my door and set him on the wall, I was pinning him. He looks at me terrified. "What are you?!" He shouts at me. My fangs slowly start to come out as I look down at his arm, the blood dripping from the cut. I grab his arm and lick the blood up before putting my lips on the cut, sucking blood from his arm. I almost had no control. He squirmed but I still drank from him, I soon felt his body going limp. I forced myself to stop, blood was dripping from my lip. I threw his other arm over my shoulder and pulled him in my apartment. I layed him on the couch and sighed. He passed out so I walked in my bathroom, cleaning the blood from my mouth. I felt bad and I knew I had to compel him. "Where the hell am I?" I hear Ralph say groggy. I make sure my face is back to normal before I walk out. His face quickly goes back to fear as he tries to get as far away from me as possible. Expected. "You're in my apartment.. Ask any questions you want, I'll answer them all." I say honestly.
"Are you going to hurt me again?" He says quickly after. My face slightly drops.
"No.. I dont plan on it." I tell him. He sighs and calms down slightly.
"Can I just start firing questions and you answer them?" He asks me, I nod. "What are you?"
"A vampire."
"How old are you?"
"Almost 772."
"Your parents?"
"They're dead. They died almost 750 years ago."
"Is there more of you?"
"Yes."
"Do you have any cool powers?"
"Super fast speed, super strength, super hearing, I can erase people's memory, etc."
"Wait, are you going to erase my memory?"
"Yes, I have to." I look at him sadly."Why?"
"Because you're human. And I'm not letting you get dragged into supernatural drama."
"Eve?"
"Yes?"
"Why did you drink from me?"
"Because I had no control." I paused for a second. "I did what I had to do and soon, I'll change your memory and you won't remember any of this.""None of it?"
"None of it."I sit closer to him and look right into his eyes. "Ralph, you won't remember any of this. You wont remember me drinking your blood or any of your questions or anything about vampires. We bumped into each other, went to dinner, talked, you had a couple drinks, you trippes on the way home, and crashed at my place. Now go to sleep." As soon as I finished, he was out like a light. I sigh. I felt ashamed. I hated doing that to him. I walked to my room, throwing off my clothes and settling in some comfy pajamas. I layed in bed and let myself fall asleep.
