Prepared for the Future!

"You'll kill it at Jamaican Plains tonight, now stop hogging the mirror". I said to nate, with a smile, I was just got done playing with Suan, when I heard him giving his war, war never changes speech. I fix my hair, put my makeup on and finish up.

My name is Kate, the year is 2077 its October, my husband, Nate, works in the milatary and has been invited to give a speech at Jamaican Plains. I have a son named Suan, he has my eyes, and nose, well thats what Nate says. We have a domestic robot, or Mr.Handy, his name is Codsworth he helps around the house with basic chores while Nate and I take care of us and Suan. When I finished my hair and makeup I had noticed Codsworth had made me some coffee, so I thanked him, drank the cup, when I heard suan crying, "Oh, mum, suan seems as if hell never stop crying, maybe you should try to comfort him". I could tell Codsworth did not want to deal with Suan any longer. I sat the cup down walking over to suans room. I spun his rocket ship around his crib, soon playing with him. I laughed when he laughed. Then Nate walked in all cleaned up from the bathroom, "So what do you want to do today?" I looked over and smiled at Nate. "We could hang up Holloween decorations around the house, or go to the park with suan". We walked into the living room when the door bell rang. "Ug, its that guy agin, he wont leave us alone, why dont you answer it agin". I sighed and walke over to the door, opend it. "Hello". I said in a board way. He took a step further and tiped his hat, "Ah, hello ma'am Vault tec has selected you to be ready for, excuse my language, the big, caboom" I looked at him, I knew we where living the American dream, but its been ruff theese days, we woke up from the dream. "Go on" he smiled. "Good, fill out this sheet, and you and your family will be able to enter vault 111" I glanced over the sheet, My name is Kate, Streanght about a 3, Percipatation, roughly 4, Endurance 3, Charisma 4, Intelligence 2, Luck 4. I handed the form back. "Thank you ma'am, now you and your family will be. Prepared for the Future!" I shut the door and walked back to Suan, Nate followed me too. I continued to play with him until Codsworth voice sounded concerd. "Mum...Dad...You might wanna see this!" Nate picked up Suan. "Whats wrong Codsworth?" Nate and I walked into the room and sat infront of the T.V. glued. "Its heard to be reaported, oh god, we have been notified that any one who is in the Pennsylvania and Boston area needs to get to cover, Im getting reports that airplanes have been flying over. There is signs of a nucalar detonation". Our eyes enlarged, I froze, having flash backs about my entire life, holding suan for the first time, could this be the end? I snaped out of it when Nate grabed my arm looking consered. "Lets go hun!" I stood up and we ran to the vault, not thinking about anything else. The vault tec security directed to our location, I saw the vault tec man who I had met earlier, he was trying to get in, I wanted to help but could not, I needed to help my family first. "Two Adults, and Infint child, please follow the Vault tec security." We ran to the platform, the new beginning. "What about those other people huh?!" Nate said firmly to one of the staff. He said nothing, he checked all of us off and noded to a man who pushed a button that lowered us into the vault. Just then, in the horizon I saw it, the mushroom cloud of the Atom bomb. Its all over, its the end, did we just wake up? Did it take this long, we should of seen this coming, this vault is our new home, no more being outside with fellow neighboors, having a barbecue, no more-. My eyes largened. "Codsworth!" I yelled panicked "We need to get codsworth, please just let me back up!" I scrambled out the cage from the platform. "Hun, Codsworth, was swept up in the bomb, hes gone". I fell to my knees and cried. Codsworth was a present from Nate when I was pregnat with Suan. A vault tec staff helped me up and gave me a suit and told me to follow the doctor. I was in shock. I kissed Suan on the head to comfort him. Smiled at Nate and we both enterd out pods. Three....two....one... Frozen,stuck,scared,in shock, lonley, empty, confused. I breathed and woke up, I heard voices. Is vault tec letting us out? Was this to get the radiation off? Will I get to see Nate and suan agin? I banged on the crio-pod and tried to yell I continued to do the same. Two people dressed in bio hazard suits and the other in a leather outfit with a metal guard over his right arm. This was not vault tec. I continued to bang on the glass and tried to yell, no use. The bald scard man opened Nates pod and one of the bio-hazard suit people tried to take suan. This was not help, this was a kidnap. I managed to say in a small voice but it was so cold in there it was like it was cutting into my throught. "Suan". I felt light headed and the bald man held up a gun to Nate and thretend to shoot if he did not give him suan. "No, plea-" Bang! Nate, was shot. The bald man came over and examed me closly saying a few words, but I could not put it into place, so many emotions going through me, a kidnap and a murder. Then once agin I passed out in the Crio-pod.

I woke up breathless, I banged on the door once agin, for no reason. "Opening Crio-pod" a voice came over the intercom. "N-nate!" I fell out of my pod and cralled to Nates pod, opening it with a shaky hand. "N-nate its alright, please wake up!" I stood gripping to the handle bars in his pod, the only thing I was holding on to. "Nate". I cried out for his name. Nate, please, you couldn't, no I wont exept that your dead! I love you to much! Nate...Nate! "I love you!" I shouted before dropping to the floor crying. I was not wanting this, no, none of this. I just wanted to be happy, no I wanted us to be happy. Why cant we all be happy? Is it because, the world was built to have conflict, built to have pain and peace, built for argument and agreement. But, whatever we decide, is on us, and we have to LIVE with the fact that we chose to have it our way and at the end, it will efect us all differently, we eather love it and hate the after math, or hate it and love the after math. WE MAKE OUR OWN DECISIONS AND WE WILL FIGHT FOR WHAT WE BELIVE IS RIGHT! And that war, the bombs, was all on us...

I stood up, Strong. I grabed the pistol from the overseers desk, grabed the amo, shot the radroches till there nerves flinched no more. Went the the entrance of the vault. "Ill never let another person who I love, die". I reached down and grabed the pip boy, put it on my wrist, examining it, before turning it on. I pluged it into the vualt's door system control and punched the button on it. "Im ready world. I want you to try to put me in hell! More hell than I already am in! Because this war, war is about to change!"
