A Nara Among Wizards {Shikadai X Witch!OC}

Prologue

The Last Great War ended years ago and those who fought in the war have started their own families. Having children to be rised in this new age of peace.

We look to the village hidden in the leaves. To the Nara clan compound. Here Shikamaru, his wife Temari, and son Shikadai live. It started out a night like any other. But the young Nara's life was going to change forever....

October 25, 1985

Death-defying Illness

A chilling wind blowing through out the village as evening approaches. Shikadai was heading home late cause a loud mouth friend wanted to pull a prank. Making him late heading home. Shikadai was being more lazy then normal since he felt a little ill. He usually wouldn't mind it but he wasn't feeling well since that morning and it's only progressed.

What a drag.... I thought I felt like shit this morning and I still don't feel any better. Maybe I should tell Mom.... Shikadai thought as he open the front door. He hears his Mom cooking dinner and sees his Dad reading a few papers.

Dad's home early today. Maybe I should wait....He thinks about to walk to his room to sleep but suddenly he felt  extremely dizzy. Then again maybe not... He thinks as he groans loudly from the pain coming from his head.

"Shikadai?" Shikamaru asks aloud. Moments later a loud thud came from the hall. Shikamaru and Temari rush to the hallway to see their son on the floor unconscious.

"Shikadai!!" They yell hurrying to his side. Shikamaru quickly picks up his son to see blood dripping from his mouth.

"Temari! Call Sakura at the hospital and tell her I'm on my way with Shikadai." Shikamaru orders as he dashes out of the house with Shikadai rapped in his arms. Temari overcomes her shock and rushes to the phone. Dialing in Sakura number with shaking hands. The phone starts to ring.

*Beep-Beep-Be!*

"Hey, Temari! What do yo!" Sakura starts but Temari cuts in.

"Sakura! Shikadai collapsed onto the floor and blood was coming from his mouth!!! Shikamaru is on his way to the hospital with him! Are you at the hospital??" She cries.

"Oh no! And yes I'm at the hospital. So Shikadai will be my top priority. You should come as soon as you can as well." Sakura say as Temari whispers a weak reply. She hangs up the phone and heads towards the entrance.

"I need an examination room ready. Shikadai Nara collapsed at home and blood was coming from his mouth. As soon as he and his father come through those doors, I need him taking to an examination room and blood work done on him." Sakura orders the nurses. They jump into action. Luckily the hospital wasn't busy tonight. Moments later Shikamaru rushes through the doors with Shikadai.

"Shikamaru! This way! We have to hook him up to a heart monitor and get an IV in him right away!" Sakura yells as they rush upstairs to room 12-45.

Shikamaru lays his son down on the bed and Sakura got to work. His heart rate was a little high and body temperature was 103°.

A high fever and quick heart rate. But what's causing the blood? Sakura thinks as she notices Shikadai chakra levels were extremely low.

"His chakra is dangerously low. But why?" Sakura mumbles forgetting Shikamaru was there. He's chakra is low? Was he practicing a jutsu? A hundred questions race through Shikamaru's mind.

"Shikamaru. We're going to do some blood work and order x-rays. Also, I'm going to have Hinata come here and check out his chakra coils.  Something is very wrong but he's stable for now." Sakura says with a sigh of relief. Shikamaru releases of breath he didn't know he was holding. Shikadai.... Shikamaru thinks sitting down next to his unconscious son. Temari arrives a few moments later.

"Shikamaru. What did Sakura say?" Temari asks her husband as she removes Shikadai's ponytail.

"He's stable. They're going to run some blood work, order some x-rays and have Hinata check out his chakra coils. I heard Sakura mumble his chakra levels are low." Shikamaru mumbles thinking deeply.

"His chakra is low. But surely it wouldn't have this violent of a reaction, tho..." Temari mumbles brushing her fingers through Shikadai's hair. Temari is right about that. But I need more answers. Shikamaru thought as he stood up. Looking at his wife he smiles softly.

"I'm going to go look for some answers from his friends. They surely had to have notice something." He says as he closes the door to Shikadai's room. Temari watches her husband leave and looks over to her only son.

"Be strong, Shikadai. You can over come this. We love you." She mumbles growing sleepy for some strange reason. Temari sit in the chair her husband was sitting in and falls asleep holding Shikadai's hand. As his breathing becomes unstable.

A figure draped in a old black cloak that reeks of rotting flesh appears. It was Death, come to end another life. He looks to Temari and then to his target. The young Nara. He will not survive the night.

Yet for a rare moment, Death decided to pity the young Nara. But Death knew if he left the child as he is. He'll would be ill for the rest of his life. Then it's struck him. This world has been disconnected from the outside world for too long. They will never connect with each other unless he interferes a little bit. With a wave of his hand, the boy began to glow and his breath stabilizes.

"You'll be the first to contain chakra and magic, young Nara. You'll be the bridge to connect the world's once more. I leave it to you." Death whispers and leaves as quickly as he came.

A week later Shikadai Nara was released from the hospital with a clean bill of health. Sakura never found out what happened to him but she was happy he was healthy. Also to his Mother and Father's relief he was safe. Yet many things will grow more and more stranger for the next five years. As the young Nara grows.
