A Train Ride To A New World

Shikadai's POV

I wake up to my alarm going off. I sit up and stare at it for a minute. 8:36 am. Moegi-sensai and the others decided to throw me a going away party...So troublesome... I look over to see Silver perched on my desk chair fast asleep. On my desk is my ticket for the train and a letter. Hogwarts Express. Platform 9 3/4. Leaves at 11 o'clock sharp. And it's a letter from Rose. She gave me her address so we could write to each other. I mainly ask about things I'd needed to know for School but we do talk like normal friends... I read the letter as I pet Silver. I've learned so much from her. About the houses at Hogwarts and the main sport in the Wizarding World. Quidditch and how it's played. Rose is hoping to make her house team as a chaser or at least as a substitute for Gryffindor.

"......Anyway, remember to meet me at Platform nine and ten at 10 o'clock so I can show you how to get on to the train. Maybe you, Ron and I can sit together. Fred and George will most likely be pulling pranks with Lee. So I do not wish to be part of them at least not yet....

Rose Black " .........I guess Fred and George calling her Mama Black wasn't just for laughs. I've also learned she's a prankster just like Fred and George..... but she only does it to people who can take a joke. I sigh aloud closing the letter thinking back to what I overheard at Gringotts. Harry Potter... The-boy-who-lived??? I'll have to ask Rose about this tomorrow....I get dress and head to the kitchen to see Mom cooking up a storm...

"I know a lot of people are coming but.....Didn't Aunt Ino as well as a few others say they were going to bring food as well??" I question as Dad snickers...

"Don't be a smartass....And I know but it's best to be prepared also....." Mom stops and hugs me tight.

"Mom...... I'm leaving tomorrow...Not today.... Plus with Silver, I can write to you and Dad." I mumble hugging her back.

"I know. I know. It's just a mother's job to worry.." She smiles turning back to the food. I sit down at the table and start eating breakfast.

"Dad? After you get back from work. Want to play shogi before the party starts?" I ask eating some toast.

"Sure. It will be our last match for a while." Dad smiles.

"Maybe, I could show Rose how to play? Or someone in the house I'll be in." I comment. Rose did talk highly about Gryffindor...... but I did let it slip that my family is known for being smart so she did say I could be in Ravenclaw......I thing Gryffindor is better. I'd get to hang out with Rose more....

"You never know, but this is an important step. From what we saw in Diagon alley. It's going to be different....very different from what is like here." Dad says worryingly.

"I know. Rose did say that electricity doesn't work well in the magic world and their not really into it. Plus I did look through some of my books and the creatures it talks about....." I mumble thinking to the books.......... BilliWigs, Ghouls, Doxies, Dragons and many more......

"You've been sending Rose a lot of letters to her. Silver must be tired." Mom comments over her shoulder.

"Yeah. But it's best. Cuz of the Ministry is not supposed to know or anyone else as well about the hidden villages, right?" I ask finishing breakfast.
