"And he was cute?" Cathy asked.
"Yep." I replied, "Its unbelievable. How could my parents have let him slide past? He has neck tattoos for crying out loud!"
"Be thankful." said Sarah. "This is a rare, almost-never-happens kind of occurrence. I think we should take advantage of it. Movie night at your place."
"Can't I'm grounded." I said. "So is Cathy."
"Well, what about at my house then? Maybe the sitter will let you come and we can all share spooky stories. Plus hot sitter news is always welcome." She said turning to me.
"Okay, I will ask him when I get home." I said. "Speaking of which, I better get to walking if I want to make it home before dark."
"Okay, bye Maura!" They called.
"Bye."
Sometimes, I wonder if my friends truly like me. They act like it but then they do things like not offering to give me a ride home, or sending me into the tunnel, or Ale just disappearing on me and never returning. But its just like whatever, I can't freak out about it because then they would talk trash about me.
"Hey Collin, can I go over to a friends tonight?" I called as soon as I stepped through the door.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" He asked back, calling from the kitchen.
"Girl." I said stepping in the kitchen's thresh hold. "We are having a movie night. I told her I was grounded but that I'd ask anyhow."
"You can go." He said.
"What?" I asked, "But mom and dad said I'm grounded." Part of me had wanted to stay here and say that I couldn't go.
"Go have one last moment of freedom before your parents lock you away in this house forever." He laughed pushing me out the door. "Go!" He yelled playfully.
"Okay." I yelled back. Wow, Collin is pushy.
I walked all the way to Sarah's house and saw that they had waited for me to start the movie. "Oh wow you guys waited."
"Yeah." Cathy said. "We wanted to hear all the sitter details first."
"Yes," Sarah said. "Tell us every detail, do you have any pictures?"
At that moment I face palmed, my friends are stalkers."Okay, lemme tell you about him." I said sitting down. "He has lots of tattoos, he's cute."
"What does he look like?"
"He has dark brown curly hair and clear green eyes. He is tall, his name is Collin and he dresses stylishly." I said, giving them a blunt description of him.
"What does he dress in?" Cathy asked.
"Sweaters, t-shirts, skinny jeans, boots. That kind of stuff."
"Can we meet him?" Sarah asked.
"No not tonight, he leaves at night and returns before I wake up." I said.
"Where does he go?"
"I don't know, its none of my buisness so I don't care for asking." I lied. Truth is, I want to ask so bad it hurts.
My friends ignored my statement and proceeded to turn on the movie. It was the Titanic, and odd choice for teenage girls. "Why are we watching the Titanic?" I asked.
No answer, wow real shocker there. "I think I'm going home." I said after maybe twenty minutes of silence except for the television.
"Okay." Sarah said. "Have a safe walk."
