Eggman: How revolting! Everything I try against that blasted hedgehog fails!

Eggman picks up the head of Metal Sonic and sighs.

Eggman: There has to be something out there that can destroy Sonic! Something out of this world! No... Galaxy? No... UNIVERSE. Of course! The Multiverse Theory!

Eggman gets on his computer and then strokes his mustache.

Eggman: Yes, this will be a plan of most excellence. Excellence indeed.

In Bowsers Kingdom he sits on his throne of Koopa bones and looks around the room as he has nothing to do but plan out his next attack on the Mushroom Kingdom. A Red Shell Koopa walks in carrying a huge crate.

Koopa: Um, sir? This package came falling from the sky. It's addressed to you of all people.

Bowser: Then open it for me, maggot.

Koopa: Y-Yes sir!

The Koopa busts open the crate. The contents of the crate are a letter and a fancy device.

Bowser: Read me the letter.

Koopa: "Dear Overlord Bowser, I have heard of your daring and powerful feats, so I invite you to my laboratory for a little meeting of sorts. It will be plenty worth your time, I assure you. If you do not come within twenty four hours, that there device will EXPLODE, and you will certainly be gone. But fret not, the device is also a transporter to my universe. Sincerely, Dr. Eggman".

Bowser: This man has no manners. But because he's smart enough to give me the title of Overlord, I guess it couldn't hurt.

Bowser walks onto the transporter and warps to Eggman's lab.

Bowser: What is all this stuff?

He gets confused at the sight of the funky machinery.

Bowser: This is technology beyond mine..?

Eggman: Yes, I must say I do fine work.

Bowser tenses up at the sight of Eggman.

Bowser: You made a kingdom of tech?

Eggman: Not a kingdom. Just a laboratory. But onto the main point of why I summoned you here.

Bowser: Yes, do tell me why you did.

Eggman: For such a time I've had a pest problem. A blue hedgehog and his friends have been foiling my hard boiled plans, and it's my understanding you have had the same issue with a plumber and his little brother?

Bowser: You are right.

Eggman: Oh trust me, I know I'm right.

Bowser: But tell me, how does a hedgehog and his friend's best you all the time?

Eggman picks up a purple diamond cut gem off of a counter.

Eggman: He uses these. This is a Chaos Emerald. I so far have three of the seven. I usually have some, or on occasions, all of them. But he gets them back from me and beats me by going into another form! He wins every time! But this time around I will prevail! Because YOU shall join me, and together we will defeat both of our enemies!

Bowser: Get the Emeralds and defeat our enemies? We can't do that. You said you couldn't take down your enemies even with the Chaos Emeralds.

Eggman: I have a plan. So do not wonder how we will do this.

On Angel Island, Knuckles is just guarding the Master Emerald as always.

Knuckles: I wonder how Sonic and Tails are doing. Does anyone even remember me? How come when I go Super, I turn pink? Why not snot green or something? How come I was named Knuckles even though I wasn't born with my gloves on? Wait... Never mind. I was born with spiky hands.
