Lance was only nine when he was taken away from his original home. He wasn't sure where he was from, it was all just a blur of warmth, the sound of water and the sound of something cheerful if cheerful had a noise. He knew that the cold, dank prison cell and the loud harsh cheers were not his home.

Lance was only nine when he was given a harsh looking gun and was told to fight an alien who's cell was right across from his own. He never spoke to the alien, but he felt remorse towards it. But the alien did not. As soon as they were given the signal, the alien came running towards Lance who got cut from the blade. It went on like that, Lance getting cut as he dodged the blade until he mustered up the courage to shoot the gun, secretly hoping that the shot didn't hit the alien and it it did, he hoped it wasn't enough for it to kill the alien. But by judging on how the cheers grew louder, his shot sadly hit the mark, killing the alien instantly.

Lance was only nine when he killed someone for is own survival.

Over the years Lance still fought in the arena and still felt horrible about killing the aliens for his own survival. It felt even worse when Lance grew found of an alien.

Over the years Lance grew found of a Garlan named Thace. Thace told Lance that he was apart of something great that could take down Emperor Zarkon, Lance didn't know what Thace was talking about  but the name Zarkon made Lance want to cry.

When they first met, Thace actually asked for Lance's name and not for his prisoner number that everyone called him. Thace was a father figure, no, he was Lance's father now and Thace took Lance in as his own cub.

Days turned into weeks as Lance was moved from cell to cell and Thace's visits came fore frequently which Lance enjoyed because Thace would actually come into his secluded, cramped cell to sit with him and tell Lance about the planets he has been to. Needless to say, the both of them were happy together.

Lance didn't know how old he was anymore when he first met the witch name Haggar. Thace said that Lance was only a few decapheebs older than what he was when he first arrived.

None the less, his first meeting with the witch brought chills down his spine even if he didn't know... her.

Lance was only eleven when his captors -aside for Thace- they started to get a little more rough in there kicks, punches and Garlan slur whenever he didn't cooperate with them, though Lance basically gave up those his captors didn't.

Lance was only eleven when Haggar started to experiments. She started by injectiing something called 'quintensense' into his blood, claiming that he was the first human ever to come her and Emperor Zarkon wanted to see if he could turn Lance into a human weapon. Needless to say, it didn't work, but Haggar kept trying.

Thace's visits became more sparse but their time together was longer. Thace spoke of finally breaking Lance out of here and bringing him to the Blade of Mamora when they were alone. Thace never told Lance when, but they both hoped it was soon.

After the twelve time with Haggar, they gave him instructions and if he doesn't follow them, he gets beat; he must eat everything that they rarely gave him for food. He must never speak -which wouldn't be hard for him because he tore his vocal cords screaming, no one bothered to heal them- if he did speak out of line, he got a muzzle pit on him. The third and final instruction was to always bare his back .

Lane was only thirteen when he lost his right let to Haggar and in replace of a harsh looking prosthetic ending at his thigh. Though for the longest time, he was left with a stump.
