HI KATE I SEE YOUUUU
The first years boats came to a steady halt by the docks on the castle grounds.
They clambered out and huddled together chatting quietly in the cold, still air whilst Hagrid began to count everyone on his fingers to make sure they where all there.
'Right, all accounted for! Let's get going!' They all followed the half giant down the cobbled path and they could just make out the castle as they walked two by two through the narrow clearing in the forrest.
Once they had got off the path and out of the forrest they waited outside the vast doors that could probably fit in two Hagrids balancing on each other's shoulders through.
Hagrid knocked three times and the doors where immediately opened. A wrinkly, stricken old woman stepped out into the could air of the night 'Hagrid, that is all thank you,' She said stiffly and Hagrid looked disappointed but slouched inside obediently.
'Okay now then, first years follow me. Everyone else is in the great hall waiting and you are going to be sorted!'
Victoria exchanged a nervous glance between her and Lizzie as they stepped inside the great hall.
Instantly their nervous thoughts vanished and they are instantly filled with delight as they feel the warmth hit them and they listen to the bubbly chatting of the older years.
'Listen up, listen up! The sorting will begin!' Everyone stares to the front at the headmaster, Dumbledore, and after a few moments the silence was filled with applause and cheers and then more silence.
Everyone was looking up.
Victoria decided to look up to because that seemed the only sensible thing to do in this situation.
She suddenly let out a yelp accompanied by a few others of her fellow first years. Some where screaming but Victoria had grown up with a few ghosts living in her basement. She just didn't expect some to be up there.
'You look as though you've seen a ghost!' Victoria giggles laughing at Lilly, Katie and Lizzie's reactions to the sudden appearance of the supernatural being.
'Hush, hush' Dumbledore speaks quietly and calmly but sternly so everyone pays attention.
'Let us hope we can do the sorting without any distractions!' He says, softly, looking pointedly up at the ghosts. The strict looking woman came up to the front as she was gestured by Dumbledore.
'I am Professor McGonagall as most of you may know, I am head of Gryffindor and am the transfiguration professor, So first up to be sorted is Mary Abbott,'
A nervous looking girl wandered up to the front and sat on the stool. Professor McGonagall placed the sorting hat on her head.
'Hmm... Interesting, interesting now let's see. Quite clever but not really suitable for Ravenclaw, not enough dedication I see...' The hat spoke.
Mary flushed bright red at the last few words. 'But how incredibly loyal, yes definitely... HUFFLEPUFF!' The hat yelled at the top of its voice or should I say... I dunno...
This carried on for a couple of pupils until it was Victoria's turn. She stepped up to the front as McGonagall pressed the hat down on her head. She could feel hundreds of eyes watching her anticipating what house she would get in.
They probably all expected Slytherin because that is what all the Blacks had got into in the past but the last thing Sirius and Victoria wanted was to be in Slytherin.
'Courage, Loyalty, Quite clever and keen to learn and I see your quite cunning as well. Maybe Slytherin? All your family have, it's in your DNA and blood... No? okay, I guess it'll have to be... GRIFFINDOR!'
Sirius was next 'Yes, you would be great in Slytherin! No, same house as your cousin then... GRIFFINDOR!'
Sirius strided up to the Griffindor table where his cousin was already sat. He was greeted by applause and pats on his back.
