Chapter 8

Aiden and I spent most of the afternoon at the mall buying stuff and playing around.  Now we find ourselves chowing down some pizza.

“Today has been pretty fun.” Spoke Aiden.

“Yeah especially when we got kicked out of Victorias secret cause someone had to try on a bra.” I chuckled the memory of what happen just an hour ago.

“Well you know had to have the perfect animal print for tonight.”  He said as he playfully winked at me.  I chuckled as this weird feeling was forming in my chest.

“yeah as a stripper.”

“Well you know I got to earn my money some kind of way.”  With that I was so done.  I burst ed out laughing with tears forming in my eye.  Aiden followed suit as he slamed his fist against the table.  But our fit of laughter came to a halt when these two girls walked up to the table.

“Hi.”spoke the blond with the bob.

“Well hello.” Respond Aiden with this flirty look playing his features.  They begin to have a conversation and I was basically force to talk to her friend but I wasn’t paying attention to anything she said cause I was to enticed with what was going on with Aiden and the girl.  For some strange I felt really annoyed with the girl.  She was getting all close to Aiden was minding the contact at all.  So the girl slipped him her number and walked away with her friend on her heels.  Aiden looked at me and his flirty features turned confused.

“Whats wrong with you?” he asked.

“Nothing” I lied.  For some strange reason I was upset.

“Good cause I thought I was going to have to tickle you.”  He said in the creepiest voice ever. 

“Oh no! There are three things I hate; being tickled, jersey Shore, and-“ but before I could finish lighting  struck and thunder boomed through the mall.  I hated thunder storms.  My body began to start to shake and I knew I wont stop any time soon.

“Tyler?” Aiden questioned me with worry on his face.

“Can we go now.”  The thunder bellowed again and my anxiety got worse.

“Ok” he responded confused as he grabbed our stuff and led us to the car.  I quickly slid in and put on my seat belt.  Soon we were on the rode.  More thunder came and I tried my best not to shake so Aiden wouldn’t notice.

*Aiden*

“are you okay?” I asked Tyler as I watch him out the corner of my eye.

“Yeah I'm fine.”  His voice sounded shaky so I looked over at him and saw he was paler then usual.

“Well, did you want to hang some more?”

“No j-just take me home.”

“Ok” I drove in silence wondering why Tyler was acting so weird.  When we got to his house he just hoped out the car aids goodbye and left.  Ok now that was rude.

I proceed to drive out his drive way and headed to my house when Attila blared from my pocket.

“Yo .” I said into the phone.

“Hey Aiden is Tyler with you?” she asked.

“No I just dropped him off at home, why?”

“Hes not picking up his phone.” Before I can respond stupid thunder cut me off.

“Wait Aiden is that thunder?”

“yeah why?”

“Aiden Tyler is afraid of thunder!!”

“Wait What?”

“Yeah hes always been but it got worse after his mom died.” That was enough to make me hang up and turn around.

*Tyler*

I quickly ran upstairs grabbed a blanket and ipod and head back to the living room.  I curled up in the blanket and put in my head phones but no matter how loud I turn up the volume I could still hear the thunder.  And the flash backs kept coming.

When I shouted at my mom…

When I felt the impact of the car that hit us…

When I saw my mom cry…

Then when her eyes closed…

Next thing I know I was in tears holding myself tight trying to get some warmth from the blanket around me.  I felt so alone

I missed my mom I missed her so much it hurt.  When storms happened she would always sing to me and now she cant because shes gone.  I hate thunder storms.

Soon the front door swung open and quickly closed.  I couldn’t tell who it was who entered by all the tears in my eyes.

“Tyler.” Whispered a familiar voice.

“Aiden?”

“Tyler its okay.” Aiden whispered to me as he pulled me on his lap and hugged me close to him.  Warmth instantly came over me as he rock back and forth.   Finally stopped crying and sat there taking in the comfort of his arms.

“Why didn’t you tell me you hate thunder?” He questioned as he took the blanket off of me and wiping my face.

“Because id thought you'd make fun of me.” It was silent for a moment till Aiden broke it.

“Because of your mom right?”

I just simply nodded my head

“I wish you would have told me I wouldn’t have laughed at you.” Chuckled aiden. “In fact I probably hid under the blanket with you.

This smile of his made me feel so much better.  Being in his arms was pure amazing.  Being with him was pure bliss.

At this moment staring into his deep chocolate brown eyes I realized…

I just fell for my best friend.
